So you would be ok with the paying $560 per year to watch LSU baseball’s regular season games?

Like with our season tickets? Yes
I don't get the d1 baseball hate. Supply and demand. They are supply access to the game and if people will pay their price for them to at the end of the day not take a loss then it's fair price. I do not disagree with the idea of not buying it, but $10 per lsu game I think is pretty fair and the deal is even better if you want to watch other games as well.

@Kendall - if I keep talking kindly about your streaming service can you send me a discount code?
Ah, maybe some parchment/quill and ink as it's a primary means for communication.

If we are free to return to ship to grab things, then I would grab another cleaver from the galley.

Rotgut, what do you think?
Stardew Valley is really good if you like chill, base building, resource management type games.

Overcooked is good for high pressure, stressful management type games

Big fan of For the King if you're looking for a turn based/tactical board game kind of game

Baldurs Gate 3 is good for role playing/turn based combat kind of game

Garm, what about you for weapons or anything exciting in your locker do you think you’ll have

Garm learned a long time ago that you can't rely on leaving any valuables in a locker on a ship full of scallywags and hoodwinks. Garm carries most of his belongings on his person, though his locker is mostly full of spices, seasonings and other dual purpose cooking and surprise blinding powders in a pinch.
Garm:

Garm nods at the mention of going to the ship.. though he wouldn't mind seeing the wenches again. They've enough of our coin to maybe be able to get a bargain round in.

Garm's fighting style is grisly. On a ship he cooks, but he uses that same cleaver used to prepare meals to also cause limbs to go missing in a hurry. Maybe single handedly keeping the local peg leg vendor in business.
Garm:

I ask for a moment with my hungover compatriots. As we walk a few steps back from the governor, I position myself so that my back is to him, obscuring his view of what I am doing.

I pull out some parchment and ink and begin hastily scribbling with barely legible handwriting: Do we flee to try to secure booty for our debts?

A slow smile forming on my face.

(out of character question. Are we members of an established crew? Do we have deeds to a boat. If not, maybe a seek a ship and join up with a crew... Or steal one to form our own?)

Garm and Rotgut know each other by any chance? We’r in port. Y’all are all pirates but might not have necessarily been on the same crews.

I'd say good chance. Garm is known to pull out his lute during down time and play a song to bring the sounds of the ocean back to the land. Doesn't hurt a good vibe increases the drinks being drank and makes winning coins from a few hand of cards just a tiny bit easier. If this is a common port for pirates, then likely our paths have crossed since Garm congregates at high traffic areas.

Thanks so much for the heads up. Snagged them too.

Can someone more experienced in this give me some advice, should I make a character that is somewhat the total opposite of his? I am thinking of making a female who I imagine would be the only one I think that could be a cool dynamic. He is writing his now and its basics are hes a former soldier who left the service of his lord after his wife and kids were killed by that lord and now he searches the seas for any means he can find possible to get his revenge.

There's not going to be a right or wrong answer here. It could be something like you two together plotted a mutiny your former boat and the captain found out and made you walk the plank. This boat is where you two ended up when found by our current captain.

You could be rival captains that fell on hard times and now have to swallow your pride to join a ship at the lowest of ranks.

One of you could be an expert in flintlock pistols and the other with a blade, so you teamed up to cover each other's weakness.

It could be anything. You have the advantage of weaving a backstory off of each other if you want to. Certainly do not have to though and you each could have your own cool back stories. I think what is most important is finding a little back story that excites you so that you're invested in whatever story Athens decides to tell.

Ok think you for laying out guidelines and such

And sorry if im annoying you as i said i have no real experience at this, the rules, etiquette, etc so im just trying to feel out whats in play so i dont annoy the other players later

This is Athen's game of course but as a general rule with table top games, you don't typically want direct player vs player motives as it can lead to one side or the other getting negatively impacted and can ruin the experience. A good character is that with motives, flaws, as maybe "gray" in morality somewhere between good and bad, lawful and chaotic, etc.

Think about your favorite movies and characters. Hans Solo is a great example of a neutral character. He's a smuggler, lone wolf type but finds ways to do good with his bad habits.

Even "bad" characters can come together to oppose true evil. Think Suicide Squad or League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. X-men has examples of this with Magneto teaming up because of society hunting mutants is a greater threat than other mutants themselves.

Just my two cents as someone who runs table top games.
Aye! The names Tongueless Garm.

I used to be one of the greatest singers of the seas. Most say I lost my tongue after running it a few too many times among the lads of a former ship, but most would be wrong. In fact, I traded it to a sea hag for an unspecified cost for the ability to write the most beautiful, haunting songs of the ocean that now I will now never be able to sing. I hate irony. Mighty fine poet though, and not too bad with a lute after a drink. Keeps the crew's spirits up.

I have found use as a cook, though I am learning as I go. Once the food is served, I like to make sure the lads enjoy their spoils with songs and revelry.

a very addicting card game. it's like slay the spire, or a roguelite but using a deck of cards. very fun

I think Olave has already hit the ceiling and it caused another concussion.

I think Paul is classy and I would bet he called or texted Jay to congratulate him. Some things are best done outside of public view.

re: Why are we retaining McMahon?

We'd have to be relatively big money to buy him out. May as well put that money into the program than give it to him to not coach us. And if we invest in the program for a year or two with no tournament appearances to show for it then you can buy him out for much cheaper and probably spend near the same amount when it's all said and done.
Where did you get lessons from?
