What taxes are you still responsible for and why?

It would be nice if you did and had no internet.

Sounds cool actually. Trash pick provably not an option. No gas, water, or electric (except some may have gas refills delivered like up North).
Property taxes suck, but so do all tax shake downs.

Pretty sure there would be some form of property tax.
I think much of that would depend on what state you live in and then what part of the state as different municipalities determine their own tax rate on property.
My late father-in-law's property in CENLA located outside the town of Mansura has an annual tax bill under $50 and that is on over 6 acres of land. It is located adjacent to a Wildlife Management Area and off a gravel road. It has 3 buildings on it but all are now is serious disrepair due to being vacant for about 15 years.

You go live at a drug encampment.
If you own it you pay taxes.

No such thing. All land is rented from the government.

How would being on or off the grid impact what taxes youre responsible for? Outside of any sells tax on utility costs that you would incur if connected to the grid every other tax that you would be liable for would apply.

70.00 property tax on 40 acres. Plus you would pay the mosquito tax with blood, and the swampass tax.

Sales tax.
You know you're going to still need to buy stuff.

I had a 2 bd/1 bath cabin for a while that was totally off grid. One mile off of a gravel road. Solar powered for electricity. Generator to run the pump for my water well. Large pond for fishing and plenty of wildlife for hunting.
My only bill was my annual property tax bill which was around $100.

Better to build yourself a houseboat with no motor and tie up somewhere you can access a parking spot you can get to.

Income tax if you still work.

Well, you wouldn't have a job living off the grid, so there goes income tax. I'm guessing he means to have no investments or anything, so no dividends, interest, or capital gains taxes. No going to the grocery store or gas station, so no sales tax.

Which taxes would he be liable for?

What Taxes? If you own land, you are responsible for the property tax based on what that land is worth. If you have a house on the land, it's the value of the land plus the value of the house. If you don't have a house, it's just the value of the land.
Why? Because everyone who owns property has to pay property taxes, minus loopholes.
