I love soul food diners but my hotel in the chain restaurant mecca was located next to saltgrass. It was late and we had been traveling all day. I was just pointing out we didn't get seafood for our $80/3 people.

You went to a mid tier steakhouse and are surprised you spent a little over $25/person with tip? I really don't understand what you're bitching about.

I am not bitching. The OP got crawfish for his $80. We had regular food for the same price. I don't get what the OP is bitching about.

I agree. Sounds more like a $100 meal if you ask me.

For comfort food? You dorks will argue over anything. Ain't no way what he order would cost near $50 12 months ago...

When you raise wages and the price of fuel skyrockets restaurants have two choices.

Close or raise prices.

I can’t recall a time where lunch was $5 unless it was a special somewhere.

You must not have been to the grocery stores either cause it costs just as much to cook.

You gotta hit that sale paper baw.
It’s sad how some people that live in the south still can’t cook.

The costs associated with running a Saltgrass isn't what a soul food diner's is. Very much apples and oranges

Why overpay for that food though? It’s not worth it.

Conversely; went out last night to a new Central American restaurant we have been visiting for the last month or so. Appetizers, and three entrees, with tea was $75 tax inc. I was extremely happy.

what’s wrong with ordering water? Too many fat fricks ordering sodas and sweet teas out there.

There really is nothing wrong with it and it's much better for you, but man, it's just not as enjoyable as drinking something with some flavor to go with good food when going out to eat. But yes, too many people drink sodas all day everyday.

A grilled chicken breast sandwich at a couple of neighborhood eateries runs $11-12 bucks plus tax. My neighborhood grocery store whose prices are generally higher thatn the chain markets has 3.5 lbs of boneless skinless chicken breasts for $12 bucks, that’s a lot of sandwiches. You can probably home cook most items you would find in a restaurant for half what. the restaurant cost would be. If cook ing multiple meals in bulk, the cost goes down even more..

You're being dense on purpose. I've only posted it twice.

I know inflation exists. Without evidence, I don't think a meal for three at IHOP costs $60.
