No. Some of these prices have gone up higher than they should.

Like I mentioned in my other post.. What normally cost $32 is now $50. What is that? Around 36% increase? Yeah that's beyond inflation.

Even at an average restaurant, it’s safe to assume appetizers will be at least $12 and entrees $20. Cokes I’m guessing about $3 (I don’t really drink them so that’s a random shot in the dark). So before tax you’re at about $58 by my guess. Hopefully a lot less otherwise your tip was horrible.

First and only place that came to my mind as well. How that overpriced hack of a restaurant stays in business is beyond me. I’m bringing a stack of bridges there one day to sell to all of their customers

Have you been to a grocery store? Are you even slightly aware of the increases in the price of labor?

Also can we talk about places charging for to go ?

Last week I did pickup from a local place. $1.25 up charge per entree for to go orders.

I've never once seen this and between personal and work I eat at least 8 meals a week out.

It’s definitely not worth it eating out with these pieces. I’m real trying to cook at home more whenever it’s possible.

but what I experienced today was on a different level. My wife, son, and I ate lunch at a seafood place in Metairie. We sat down and looked at the menu and the damn place didn't have hardly any prices on their entrees. Most of the damn menu said "Market price". We ended up ordering crawfish etouffee, a 6" catfish po boy w/ fries, and a catfish plate with potatoes and mac-n-cheese. The damn bill ended up being $80. Man, this is my first time eating out in months and with these prices I'm staying my arse home and cooking myself. Most of the time I can do it better anyway.

That sucks. Metairie still has plenty affordable places to eat. Check the online menu before going next time.

Can't get shite past the OT. First two responses in my thread, and they knew exactly the place I was talking about

We were invited to eat there with some friends. That was my first and only time eating that overpriced crap.

Yes. And I can get more to eat for $50 at the grocery store than going out to eat at a restaurant.

Are you one of those "I can save money at the grocery store by going out to eat" types? If so then you need some math lessons.

Yeah you probably do need to just stay home. Either than or eat at the TGIFriday's or Chili's special price menu.

I tell my kids all the time not to order soft drinks at restaurants. Some of them places charge $3 for soft drinks. I tell em I'll get them ice cream later if they order waters at a restaurant. Works out great.

You have to negotiate with your kids not to order soft drinks at a restaurant? What happened to just saying, "No"?

As someone who goes out a decent bit, the service industry has fallen apart. I'm at the point where if a person shows any effort I'm tipping 30 plus percent, but half the time it feels like I'm an inconvenience.
