Not even close lol. LC is what it is. Lafayette is better for most people and is a better city overall. Lived in BR, it sucks arse. NOLA sucks pretty damn bad too.
North shore is way better.
Overall LC sucks, it just sucks less than most places in LA. But if you are raising a family, want to make a good living while having a low cost of living, have nice neighborhoods to live in and have good schools to send your kids...it's not bad. Especially if you like hunting, fishing, and golf.

It’s expensive now. Hunting? The duck is shite now. They all stay up north. Deer? Yeah right. Fishing is decent I’ll give it that. Good schools? False.

Are they as good as Texas schools??? Hell no, but they are never going to be just based on demographics and the ability to create independent school districts. But compared to the other cities in LA it has as good or better.
Mandeville and rest of north shore has better due to demographics.

The only thing I will say as someone in the market to buy a home- some of these LC people have vastly overrated their property values.
It’s hard right now because every redneck with an insurance check is out there buying, but eventually things will even out. Probably toward the back half of the year.
We’re in the $400-500K home range and what you think you’d get ain’t what they try to sell you for that.
Then you run the risk of out pricing the market. The number of people that can and will afford a $500K home isn’t great. Usually those types build their own. The economy might boom now but not well enough to see a realistic return in five to seven years on that home.

100% correct. Market is a sellers market right now for sure. And yes slc is stupid expensive right now.
