This worked for me:

Cut out all oils except avocado or olive oil.
cut out butter
cut out cheese
cut out processed meats
greatly reduce red meat

eat steelcut oats for breakfast
eat a honey/cinnamon/ dark chocolate spread on your whole grain toast. (I make my own mix using local raw honey).
eat an avocado a day. I have an avocado/lettuce/tomato sandwich for lunch.

You're probably just eating less because this is all over the place nutritionally

They have good cholesterol medicines that aren't statins.

So doctors of the OT, tell me how to do it.

This thread is going just about as I expected when I read
"OT, tell me what to do"

Asking the O-T for serious opinions on ANYTHING shows incredibly poor judgement. You should know this by now.

You need to know what you're HDLs and LDLs are as well as total cholesterol. You best bet is to call your doctor and seek advice.

Vascepa is one, I'd talk to your doctor about non statins if you have to go that route.

ETA: not sure if I answered the right question. You quoted something I quoted, but Vascepa is non statin.

Exercise, eat less calories, eat more quality foods. It’s really straight forward.

Eat less, exercise more. I mean..I'm not a doctor, but I'm pretty confident this will get you the results you're after

Lose weight, exercise. Don't worry about the cholesterol or pill. Worry about 33%-50% lifetime chance of having a stroke or heart attack.
