Very politely explain that you aren't interested in an arbitrary deadline, you're not going to take pills and will continue to monitor it to gauge the effects of improvements in diet & exercise. Period. End of discussion.

Eat oatmeal everyday for breakfast. Drink a glass of water with 2 teaspoon s of fiber every night.

I’ve had 2 cardiologist tell me basically the same thing, diet is only about 5-10% of the reason for cholesterol problems. The rest is genetic. They said that’s why there are plenty of obese people that eat like shite that have perfectly fine cholesterol, and a person that is in good shape, eats well, etc can have horrible cholesterol levels. Btw I tried red yeast rice and it did lower my levels but threw my liver enzymes way to high.
