You said cut the "fats and butter".

I also said red meat and butter and you don't have to be Sherlock to know I mean saturated fats. But I guess everything needs to be spelled out here because some can't admit when they were wrong

Oatmeal one meal.

No fried food at all.

Its summer. Enjoy locally grown fruit one meal. As much as you like. Two or three servings.

Baked fish or white chicken or lean cut of beef or pork, with a huge salad or boiled greens. Rice or corn as desired.

I’d rather take the pill

Not necessary.

Agreed.

This depends on the fruit. You don't need to be eating two or three servings of high sugar fruits like oranges.

You need good fats. This diet limits that. And rice or corn as desired? No.

Sugar is the culprit, not fats.

Eat as much meat and low GI vegetables as you want. Eggs, bacon, butter, ribeyes, fish, chicken, broccoli, green beans, squash, peppers.

Keto will get you where you want to be, and quickly. I’ve done it and have seen countless others do it with great results. All cholesterol levels improved, blood sugar levels went down, heart rate lowered, blood pressure lowered, etc etc.

All these guys saying whole grains and lots of fruit don’t understand that we now have a better understanding of nutrition and the human body than we did back when the food pyramid appeared. Try it for a month and see what happens

Keto has been directly related to heart disease. Is it good to cut weight quickly? Sure. I wouldn’t recommend it to someone trying to lower cholesterol

You can still stay in keto while lowering your macros in fat/protein and raising your carbs and fibers to the max 40g of daily intake

Do you have any evidence that macros matter more than calories? I know Gary Taubes (popularizer of keto stuff) financed a study comparing high carb vs. very low carb. The meals were measured out to the calorie and fed to the subjects who were housed at a facility for 8 weeks. It turns out that both diets were identical for weight losst loss.

Link?

Because that is the opposite of what recent, long term studies on Keto have found.

ETA: Long Term Keto Study

quote:

The weight and body mass index of the patients decreased significantly (P<0.0001). The level of total cholesterol decreased from week 1 to week 24. HDL cholesterol levels significantly increased, whereas LDL cholesterol levels significantly decreased after treatment. The level of triglycerides decreased significantly following 24 weeks of treatment. The level of blood glucose significantly decreased. The changes in the level of urea and creatinine were not statistically significant.
