Any lawyer who wants to take this case at this time really should look at another line of work. Both are minors. The alleged father is only 15 and if memory serves, in Louisiana, officially he cannot legally go to work full time as an underaged kid, so any attempts at garnering child support would have to wait until the father's 18th birthday.
It would be a stretch to hold the parents of the friend liable for the kid's sneaking out, unless they knew that heir daughter had a habit of doing this....the law cannot mandate that you put bars on your windows just to mitigate this type liability.
Here is my guess, the little 13 year old angel was not a virgin at sundown of the day that she got pregnant. She knew what she wanted to do even if the law says that she legally could not make that decision. If I would have to wager, "daddy" was not her first partner
Putting the child up for adoption would be the best option for all involved.....but, they probably won't do that.

While I sympathize, realistically, you could not do that given that they were of the same proximate age

Answer to this would be putting it up for adoption. Plain and simple. I wouldn't mind even if the parents sued to help pay for expenses until the adoption was final.

They're talking about suing the parents of the girl the daughter stayed at. They clearly aren't simply looking for help raising the child. They want to blame people for how this could've happened. Teach your kids about safe sex, don't just assume they won't do it.

Obviously, I am no lawyer, but I have to think that if a 13 year old girl is sneaking out to go frick a 15 year old dude, she doesn't have the best parenting in her life. Times change, but I know when I was young.. Any girl who was known to frick at that age were trash. As in, they came from fricked up home situations.
What grade are kids in at 13? 6th grade? Either way, I would think that the only legal action that can be taken here... Is that once the boy has a job, he will have to pay child support.
Maybe the 13 year old and her family can agree to let the 15 year old and his family have custody of the child if her family feels they can't take care of the child.

Don’t see that working out.
A) I think it’ll be hard to argue that a pregnancy is a cognizable injury or at least one that a remedy can be awarded for.
B) It’ll be hard to argue that the parents of the friend owed a duty to the daughter to keep her from leaving their house and getting pregnant.
C) It’ll be hard to argue that their “negligence” is the proximate cause of the alleged “injury”

what does being a lawyer have anything to do with this. and its also quite ignorant to assume parenting due to a 13 yr old's actions that was out of parent's control for most part.

So how does this work? wouldnt he be responsible for child support? And being under 18, would that make his parents responsible until he was of age?

Negligence for what? Your wife's co-worker is trashy, unaccountable and stupid. They can probably sue on their daughter's behalf for child support, but as far as negligence against anyone, hell no.
