I guess the same question could be asked for any large act, the Stoneses of the world, your GnRs, perhaps even your Ladies Gaga and so on and so forth. All of which I can only assume do nothing but arenas or were doing arenas mostly at the time of their last tours. The Pink Floyds and Led Zeppelins and oh let’s not forget Def Leppards and Van Halens in their prime. Same situations and has been for ss long as there have been arenas. So this isn’t some new concept. Hell how long have decent jumbotrons even been a thing?
But don’t quote me on all that because I’m no expert on the subject, so basically I’m just talking out of my arse. It feels right though.

I can go to a bar and dance with people and sing along with people and be happy. I don't need to sit in traffic and be in a tight Tiger Stadium for that.

That’s like saying that watching the game from home is the same as being on the 50 yard line, feeling the air shake when the tigers score.
You can look at pictures from a mountaintop, but until you stand there yourself, you just won’t get it.

Not really. Fun is defined differently for everyone. Again, as I have stated many times ITT the fun for me is the whole experience. Many only got part of the experience in such a large venue.
I went to see Zac Brown band with some friends at the Hollywood Bowl a few years back before CV19 (a much smaller venue) and while it was fun being there with them, it would have been more fun had the band not looked like ants. For the next concert we went to, Nathaniel Ratliff at the Greek Theatre, I made sure we sat much closer and it was just so much better.

I’ve been down low- once on the gate and then 10 rows up, you actually have to watch at least 1/2 the game from the Jumbotron.

This makes me a bit sad, but I’m not mad in the least about this concert and the people who attended for whatever reason they wanted to attend. Bands and singers have been doing huge stadium concerts long before Facebook and Instagram were ever a thing.

I don’t understand it either but, it’s like my Sis said, people just want to say they were in the stadium. I was offered tickets but passed because I’m not a country music fan. After going out and tailgating with friends pre-Concert, I’m glad I didn’t go. Traffic approaching and on campus was horrible. I live just south of LSU and traffic on River Road to get on campus was backed up past Farr Park. If I wanted to leave my complex, I would have to gone south toward Lauberge. I’ve never seen things that bad for any event at LSU.
