Nah, wouldn't fit in the pastoral climes of my place. The chickens and horses would object.

They prefer some Old Hank or John Cash.

But gotta throw in somethin harder on the weekends, like Amyl

I watched a really good documentary a few months back about the yacht rock genre. I had no idea how much Michael McDonald was involved in the style of music. He either helped write or collaborated with basically everyone signing that style.

Yeah, I was gonna say. People didn't watch that on HBO recently?

Music Box: Yacht Rock: A DOCKumentary. It's still on HBO Max and Prime I believe. Steely Dan's Donald Fagen was not happy about the moniker Yacht Rock

It wasn’t my favorite genre as a kid or young adult but has grown on me. I guess that I’m now the right age.

Great thread

And this song is my relaxing song. There is a one hour clip of this instrumental and I play it often.

My release.

And in a twist of irony, we almost bought tickets to Christopher Cross and Toto yesterday....

Cross is a hell of a guitarist. The solo on Ride Like The Wind is pretty wicked.

I had no idea how many people despise Yacht Rock but I got some pushback from the bartender this past summer about requesting it.

Christopher Cross is a badass guitarist who filled in on a day’s notice for a sick Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple in the 70s.

Is Yacht Rock radio a franchise? Remember when it came on Pandora, then XM/Sirus picked it up. Cause I've been to the dessert with a horse with no name.

1,000% agree. Henley is a brilliant artist. “The End Of Innocence” is an all time classic.

Wait, you're telling me that a guy who was in one the most famous rock bands of all time is a good artist?

Not yacht rock but the Red Clay Strays are coming to Darius Rucker's Riverfront Revival this year. We have tickets for Saturday but I really wanna see these guys.

Great festival, beautiful setting, and Darius gets it so he puts up a big tent with all the college football games on
