I feel you, man. You probably had way worse damage there in Sanibel than I did after Ida but I know the feeling of not having a home for a while. I had a very embarrassing breakdown during the storm and admitted I was crying here on TD

I’m pulling for you and I’ll be praying for you and your area

I was going to be a comedian and do a heat transfer equation to get a ballpark answer but then I remembered I don't remember how to do that shite

I went ahead and did some quick math and came with a rough estimate of 350.

What a flustercluck.

If the boat is still afloat when the water leaves the bay, his boat will stick in the mud. If that mud is the same consistancy as a lot of coastal muds, his boat will stick, even after the water comes back.
(Some of the NOLA canals are notorious for this happening , when a powerful high displacement boat takes off, water level drops, boats left behind stick in mud, returning water swaps and sinks them...and cleaning that mud off and out is a real misery.)

Not that he'll last that long, the pier he's tied to will either float only so high with the surge that will sink him, or it will float off of its mooring and he and the pier will end up inland. OR if his anchor holds, the surge will get him, big time.

It was hard. But have had it rented out since January. We had to move on with bridge out, school closed, etc. but man don’t feel like rebuilding again. Small problem relatively speaking.

Sanibel is a special place.

Slight heading change from 75 degrees at 4 PM CDT to 70 degrees at 7 PM CDT.

Small difference but it is something to keep an eye on for 10 PM advisory to see how much farther to the left he will turn before settling in on a straight path.

Some people evacuated for Georges but Ivan was a massive evacuation of New Orleans that proved to be unnecessary.

Ok, it wasn’t Cindy, it was Ivan. My bad, got the storm wrong from 20 years ago. The point was, it wasn’t so much of apathy from the lack of storms as the reason people didn’t initially evacuate, it’s because we went through an unnecessary fire drill the year before and people were very weary about being stuck on the interstates again

1) how long would the water be out before coming back in?

2) “stuck” as in if the water goes out he better abandon ship and walk out? Idk what that mud is like — he’d be knee deep or so??

Love Sanibel/Captiva.

Thrilled to see The Bubble Room back only to get punched in the face again...and this would be horrible.

We’re going there for the Thanksgiving break. Going to hit all three national parks.

We don't allow that here. Take a lap.
