Instead of all the billions wasted on Ukraine we could get huge chunks or even crushed ice on huge ships and dump it in the path of the hurricane to get the water close to freezing. It would weaken the hurricane instantly and possiby save hundreds of lives and billions in damage.
This post again.
Someone already posted this for one of the last storms.
The ice would melt before reaching the gulf.
There are not enough ships on the planet to move that much ice into a storm to cool it.
Also, how much of an impact would this have with transferring all that ice to the gulf.
The only manageable option if money was no object would be to transport cooler water from bottom of the gulf and pump it up the water column to the surface.
But how much water would be needed to cool the water and how much would the cooler water impact the animals and fish with now the now cooler water at the surface.
Also, a storm can happen regardless of water temperature. See a Nor’easter. I know it is a different animal weather wise since it a cold core system instead of a warm core, but if the right environmental conditions are present you can get the same power of a hurricane and storm surge in the winter time along the coast.

He knows. He's just fricking with the thread and wanting to see people post about how stupid he is.

Detonating large bombs on the sea floor might could accomplish this but it’d kill a lot of marine life

How much ice do you estimate it would take?

FL folks, this can’t be real? Is it?
There’s no reason to go all fear-porn on people in FL.

Let’s add that hurricanes transfer heat from the ocean to the atmosphere. They’re just doing their job of keeping the earth’s temperature in balance. It sucks - but I’d rather that we not go out and mess with changing the weather (more than supposedly already occurring)

My worry is if it tracks further south than predicted that it will miss that dry air that we have been promised will weaken it as it approaches land.

My house in Sanibel got pummeled by Ian. Once I saw the initial tracks going towards Tampa, I thought it’s gonna veer south into Sarasota area. And this seems to be bearing fruit.

I’m pretty sure the only thing that may work to stop tropical cyclogenesis would be a high altitude nuclear detonation. Warm up the upper atmosphere so much that it kills convection.
shite i don’t know maybe it’d strengthen it.

Supposedly we can go to the moon yet I don't understand why we haven't found a way to weaken these hurricanes yet. Instead of all the billions wasted on Ukraine we could get huge chunks or even crushed ice on huge ships and dump it in the path of the hurricane to get the water close to freezing. It would weaken the hurricane instantly and possiby save hundreds of lives and billions in damage.
You know, in looking at your post history, I see you're a serviceable edgelord, and I had a sensible chuckle or two at your trolling, but grow the frick up boy. This is not a video game where you can respawn lives and belongings.
This nation is reeling in every sense of the word and phrase. We can't make heads from tails on the chaos that bombards us, and now one of the most beloved - if not THE most beloved- states of our union is under the gun like no American citizen has seen in our lifetime, while millions of others of our own are sucking hind tit in Appalachia while the same Florida coast from a week ago is about to be hit again.
Just shut the frick up. It's not cute.
*even if he is banned, I'm still submitting a reply to the little immature shitstain.

I was going to be a comedian and do a heat transfer equation to get a ballpark answer but then I remembered I don't remember how to do that shite
