All those unconsolidated and semiconsolidated sediments just waiting to absorb enough water to respond to the call of gravity.

It’s been years since I was in Southern California.
It if rains alot in a short period of time I would worry about mud slides.
I think they will be ok if it moves in and out fast.

Should be good for Lake Mead
I'm interested in seeing what happens with the entire Colorado River basin.
The reservoirs that supply LA and SD should get filled up.

2 inches of rain might flood California.

For you horrible people in the South wishing death and destruction of California, I want to remind you that sevaral colleges in California had fundraisers for the victims of Hurricane Katrina; including
liberal schools like Cal Berkeley, UCLAUSC, UCSB and Stanford. Speaks volumes about your character. Do you guys ever put down the playbook?

Water in Cali is good, right? Is there a down side to this?
Torrential downpours on slopes stripped bare by wildfires? Hmmm…… nope, no downside I can think of.

Those same college administrators, and the vast majority of voting California residents (I say this because of the politicians who generally win elections in that state; this applies to Washington too, btw), would have had unvaccinated people sent to extermination camps in 2020 and 2021 if they could have. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
If they want sympathy, they can look in the dictionary between shite and syphilis.

The south will hold fundraisers, as well, and send the Cajun Navy. Does not minimize the entertainment of watching millions of westerners crap their pants over 2” of rainfall.

You certainly can't take the shite on both sides and judge the whole of either. It is a self-perpetuating cycle. Something bad happens in the Southeast and a segment of people on the coasts talk shite. The bad gets highlighted quicker than the good and remembered longer. Then, something bad happens on the coasts and the shite people from the Southeast remember what the shite people from the coasts said and use it to justify the vile shite they spew.
Instead of just deciding not to be shitty people they choose to wallow in the shite and become what they profess to hate all the while telling the kettle it is black.

Every time there's a weather event the coasts come out of the woodwork to blame climate change and Republicans and everyone who voted for Republicans. Every Hollywood movie depicts people in the south as stupid idiots who "cling to guns and religion". Coasties have thought southerners not just wrong but "evil" for decades.
Coasties are pagan, they have sacrifices(abortion) and worship pagan gods(God of climate change) and truly believe "climate sinners" deserve "justice".
Watch the news every time there's a hurricane on Louisiana/Florida/Texas and the response is always the same, something about "climate change deniers".

I wish them the best as Southern Cal could end up having mud slides.
Been through mud slides and to me it is worse than the earthquakes.
This early it looks like the media pumping it up to scare people.
