Running back Dwight Phillips Jr. stepped up with 120 rushing yards on 17 carries as Georgia outgained Alabama 455-346 in total offense.
The victory marked Georgia's first win in Tuscaloosa since 2007 and improved the Bulldogs to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in SEC play.
Alabama suffered its first loss of the season, falling to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
With No. 1 Texas falling to Oklahoma earlier Saturday, Georgia could move into the top spot in the national rankings when the new polls are released Sunday.
