How well do you and your boss get along?

My boss for the past 11 years just retired 3 weeks ago.
He and I were the first ones in the office every morning and we would usually shoot the shite about sports, weather, fishing or whatever until everyone else showed up.
I wouldn't consider him a friend outside of the plant, but we got along pretty well.

Great, he's an awesome man. We workout together at lunch every day. It's nice working with a guy I respect.

My boss was my same level colleague for about 8 years. I’ve been to his house and attended his kids’ birthdays before. Currently have plans for him and husband to make sausage and beer together.

I get along great with my boss. He doesn't micromanage and lives 800 miles away from me. We check in about once a week or message as needed on teams. He let's me do my job and doesn't cause headaches.

I call my boss a fig pretty frequently and bought him a cheap toupee/wig last Christmas. I’d say we’re on pretty good terms.

We were good friends as co-workers/peers, he had tenure, and got promoted to be my boss.
Still good friends, but the relationship is weird. Not bad, just weird

Pretty well. We have a good working relationship and keep it professional (which I appreciate). At the very least, I feel like when I have something I disagree with it we can respectfully talk about that.

Ive had 4 different bosses this year so far and not a single one of them has anything more to do with me than approving vacation and fixing time punches. As long as Im taking care of my dept, I go unbothered and I work pretty much by myself, I love it.

I cut my bosses yard on weekends and wash his car on my lunch break and in exchange, he lets me keep my job.

Very well. He always has my back on things, trusts me with a lot of things employees who have been there much longer do not have access to, and regularly cancels our weekly Teams meeting bc he says he also has better stuff to do unless I need something.

My boss is in a different country and we see each other maybe 5 times a year. We get along splendid.
