It's like an AC system. You just set the thermostat at whatever temperature you want. It cools and heats, but it's a heat pump so once the outside temp gets below 65ish, it doesn't work. Very cheap to run.

I'm coming home from vacation tomorrow. Your thread prompted me to check. Pool was 94. I turned on the heat pump with 87 setpoint. Thanks.

92 I have a huge shallow end. I hang shades over the entire pool but it still heats up so fast with this stupid heat

turn the pumps on early in the am so it will be somewhat cool by the time you get done mowing the yard or be ready for the hot tub experience.

Mines around 86 right now. I have problems with it being too cold more than too hot. Eventually want to add a heater/chiller or something. Don't know much about them. Don't have gas at my place.

They really work
I did the same thing with PVC a while back, but switched to the commercial eductor style to get more spray/air contact. Before someone spends thousands on a chiller, this is worth considering.

Caminada bay was 96* surface temp at 4pm 2 Saturdays ago. 15 miles offshore it was around 88*

That is stupid hot. The difference between the surface and 3 feet down is amazing.

Mine was at 90 last weekend and that's getting warm for me. I prefer it around 83-85.

Mine is still cool enough to make you want to go under for your body to adjust to it, but it rains nearly every day here.

ETA: My pool has a very small shallow end. The majority of it is 12 feet deep.

Thanks.

I have a gas heater for winter, but it would be nice to cool it down to 86-87 in the summer.

93 degrees as well. We set the hot tub at 100 when we use it, so it is almost as hot as a hot tub. Too hot to use. On the days following rains, it is much more pleasant to use.

85 here in SW Florida. After reading some posts here, guessing my fountain heads help to keep it cool?
