Home Alone and Fresh Prince are the ones I remember, but I know there's a lot more
Well no shite. When you're malnourished you don't really have the energy to fight.
I went and saw one of our customers this week who has been on it for a while. He's lost 100+ lbs. The guy could barely talk and he wasn't like that before. He would say something then it was a long pause to get the next statement out. You'd have thought he recently had a stroke or something.
I'm sure overall he feels better and it's better for his health, but it's time to cut back the dosage so he can eat a little and get some energy back.

re: How many you baws had the Pioneer CD player with dolphins in their whip?

I didn't like the Pioneer head units back then because everyone had them, I was all Eclipse with JL subs.
That dolphin head unit is quite nostalgic though, I'm seeing it pop up all over the place.

re: If you had to choose between Texas or Clemson

Texass should be the better game, but tickets will cost 3x as much.
I had to pay football prices for baseball tickets when LSU came to Texas.

My kid raced motocross, I was up to $15k per year not including the cost of bikes. I posted here a while back about a family I know that was spending $100k per year for their kids racing and training.
Every sport can get as expensive as you're willing to go.

I had some friends and family over to watch game 1 of the finals that Saturday evening. I wanted to go to Omaha last year but we had a Disney trip with the family the week prior, so it was too much in a short time frame and I decided not to go.
Anyway, we had a good time during the game and I was feeling pretty good. It ended and I told everyone, if we leave now we can get there with plenty of time before the game tomorrow. They laughed and I said no, I'm serious. I have a company vehicle and a gas card that I'm allowed to use for personal use. My wife chimed in and said to go and she would use points to book us a hotel room.
So my cousin and I hopped in my company car at 10PM and headed north. He was driving since I had been drinking.
That was a trip for the memory books for sure. Had a great time and will never forget it. That was also my first time going to Omaha.
We made it to Roccos at 10AM, put down our first round of jello shots, and the rest is history.
Needless to say, we were absolutely exhausted by the end of the day.

I dug a 16x36 foot hole in the back yard and filled it with water

I've been called racist for other stupid things too, so why quit now
I work in Austin, that's like asking if my house has AC
re: When you graduated HS did you go with your parents on a “ Senior Trip”?
Posted by pickle311 on 6/7/26 at 11:00 am to BowDownToLSU
When I graduated, we all went to PCB with no parents. My son just graduated a week ago and we are leaving this week to go to Cancun for him to scuba dive. The kids don't plan trips like we did back in the day, not sure when this changed.
That's ok though. He's less than a year away from his first college spring break which was exponentially better than senior trip anyway.

What do companies do for their employees milestone anniversaries now?
Posted by pickle311 on 6/6/26 at 10:11 am
Just curious, what is the norm these days for say 10, 15, 20 years of service in a company? Last company I was with they gave airfare and hotel in Hawaii.
Where I'm at now, not even close. Just curious what is normal now? I've heard of companies giving bonuses, nice watches, vacations, but I think those kind of things are in the past.

Because the homeless shelter is right off 6th St.
I don't know how it is now because I avoid the area, but that shelter used to not be a problem at all.
Several years ago I had a 1 week span where I filed for a divorce, my dad died, and an uncle diagnosed with terminal cancer. I went downtown the following weekend and let the stress out. I parked in the parking lot next to the shelter. Anyway, I over indulged in a major way so I crawled up in the passenger seat of my truck and slept there. Woke up about 9am and drove home. Didn't have a single problem. No way I'd do that now, but we also have Uber now too.

It’s full of liberals. Liberals are miserable people.
Was just in Austin for work and noticed no one is friendly.
Unfortunately, this is what it has turned into. North of the city limits it's still good. But the closer you get to downtown the worse it gets. I absolutely despise south Austin and do everything I can to avoid going there for work. The people are truly miserable and miserable to deal with.

My only problem with it is people have turned their sexuality into their identity, and you definitely don't need an entire month to flaunt it in everyones faces.
I miss when some people just happened to be gay.

My kid graduated yesterday and it was quite nice. No ghetto, everyone was respectable. Only thing that happened was the one muslim in his class got on stage and pulled out a small palestinian flag, to which a hand full of people cheered. It kinda pissed me off that no one ripped the flag from her, I'm not really into supporting terrorist.
legit CSB
