Doesn't surprise me. Those jobs are just so rare and probably very little turnover that unless you know the right person or just shite in a swinging bucket, you are more likely to end up working at some high school or public library making 30-40k a year.

I think your standard sales jobs yea but your high earning sales jobs (consultants) are different. Successful copy machine/payroll systems types? Oh yea. And there's more of them than what I mentioned. I agree with you

Most successful sales people come from humble backgrounds so I agree with you on this.

My attorney nephew married and attorney. So, there is a good example right there.

I think the correlation is typically education rather than "money", but the two go hand in hand.

Librarians... Not the people you talk to in libraries, but the actual managers of the libraries, have master's degrees. It's pretty crazy, also an awesome degree, it's also a technology degree combined with the library stuff

Family money seeks family money, from what I can tell, regardless of whatever job either happens to do.

Now for someone running the High School library or public library in BFE, I doubt a Master's would be needed anymore than a Master's in History would be needed for the history teacher for any reason other than make a few more Gs a year.
It's actually required... Especially for school librarians. Also no real librarian job is attainable without the Masters degree... It's kinda crazy, years ago it was an undergrad degree, but no longer.
Also if you work in academia, might as well work on that doctorate

This. It's education and culture. If I want to discuss literature, world events, etc, but the only thing you have to talk about is the gossip from your friends or what's going on in the reality show you watch, we probably aren't going to last very long.
I'm completely making this up, but I have to believe that if you broke down the statistics, people who come from wealthy families who for one reason or another lost all of their wealth likely marry "better" than your stereotypical "new money" individuals. The money really isn't the crux of the issue.

a lot of it is based off of this SSC article: Staying Classy
