I figure my insurance company is on the hook for the ambulance ride and x-rays already.

How much pain and suffering can you claim when both cars are un-scuffed.
This is 100% why I suggest that people immediately video the damage and the other people involved. Pictures don't do justice any more.

The police and ambulance guys were kind of laughing at the guy and knew he was looking for a payday.

Yep. They see this shite every day but cannot do anything about it other than write the report and let insurance deal with it.

I'd bet money this piece of crap has pulled this stunt before.

Tell me your policy limits and I can tell you exactly how injured your victim is.

You are John Bel Edwards favorite type. Your daughter runs into people and JBE lets the lawyers run free at you. Your rates will rise dramatically thanks to people EXACTLY like JBE.

You have to be a complete shitbag to make a living waiting for people to get into situations where they can claim they were hurt in order to make a settlement with insurance companies.

Sometimes it can be a necessary evil. About 9 years ago I was in an accident where a drunk driver slammed on the gas backing out of a parking spot. She ran into the side of my car while I was sitting in the driver seat. Her trailer hitch left a perfect square that damaged both driver side doors. We both had the same insurance company, and I had to fight with them for 3-4 weeks because they would not approve the repairs until I paid my deductible, $1,500, because they could not determine fault since she was still in jail (DUI while driving on a suspended license for a prior DUI).

I had to get an attorney, family member, to get involved and the only was we were able to get them to approve the repairs was for me to start medical treatment. Once my attorney sent my first chiro notice; they approved the repairs and agreed to pay the rental car. I had to go once a week until my car was repaired. I settled for car repair, rental car for 6 weeks, medical bills, and $500.

At next renewal my insurance went up 15%.

Years ago I was bumped from behind at a stop light. Caused about $1000 in damage to my car. Me and two others in the car, no problem.
However, I was pushed into the car in front of me.
Out pops an older woman, who at first appeared fine. Shortly after she started feeling"light headed", etc.
She ended up suing the lady that had hit me.
I promise you my car took all the impact from the wreck, my car had no issues with the impact of the front of my car to the "injured" lady's car

I guess she could be 18 or 19, but I'm going to err on the side of caution.

A few years back I got into an accident. Totally my fault. 100% my fault. Lady in a big old 'sclade doesn't even get out because she's in pain. The ambulance comes and whisks her away. I prepare my anus because I can tell what's coming.

But, CURVEBALL! Total payout between medical and 'sclade repair was under $25k and NOWHERE near the policy limits. The claim with my insurance company is closed and the statute of limitations on claims or lawsuits has passed, so I'm golden.

Apparently, I hit the one honest person in this godforsaken state and she only claimed legitimate damages.

only screwing you'll take is the premium hike.

My youngest daughter rear ended a stopped Cadi. The Cadi smashed a Ford truck in front of it. The Ford bumped a Chevy in front of it.

Cop called me (friend of mine) and I hauled arse to the scene.

An old white lady was driving the Cadi following her even older husband in the Ford. Both of those vehicles were totaled but both drivers were fine. Two black guys in the '99 Chevy with the bent bumper started in with neck pains and sore shoulders.

Cop took all the DL's and POI's. As we waited, the dudes kept complaining of injuries and started to ask about an ambulance. I was getting pissed.

Cop came back and handed our documents back. "Here's your license and insurance card, here's your license and insurance card, here's you license and insurance card....."

When he went to hand the injured party their stuff back- "here's your license and insurance card, we're keeping your license plate, here's your ticket for no insurance and here's your ticket for driving with an expired DL."

Being that Louisiana is a "no pay, no play" state- frick them and their "injuries".

Premiums went up $100/month
