Hey man, I do appreciate that. Just in my neck of the woods. Everyone looks at me like there is something wrong with you.
Also, Even went to a party I was invited too. Felt so disconntected and out of place with the people who had familes there. I left pretty early.
Going into my 40s.
Im starting to think a move is in order.

I wanted to. No doubt about it.

And no, she wasn’t pregnant but it’s amazing she wasn’t.

1. Why do you care what people think?
2. Half of them will end up getting destroyed in Divorce Court

Then you can look at them like something is wrong with them

If you have a good woman, you marry her. Lock it down. Some other guy will if you're too stupid to see what you have on your hands and appreciate her.

This is my story. Still married 23 years later. I don't think that really makes me "a shite arse dude" tho. Quite the opposite actually. I don't know how taking responsibility for your actions for the betterment of your child makes you a shitty person.

They say yes a very high percentage of the time.

If the marriage works out, cool. If it doesn’t, then they get everything paid for by the free money machine for life.

How exactly are you "Locking it down" by marrying her ?

We live in a world of No Fault Divorce.
The only thing you're locking down when you get married is that you'll lose half of everything you own if she dumps you.
That and alimony to assure you continue paying her bills even though you're no longer together.

It’s seems like getting married “for the Gram” is pretty popular these days. A lot of women value the wedding more than the marriage.

I don't know a single guy that got married because it was his idea.

I'm kinda with you on your theory but I think it's more like 50/50 that the man really wanted to. But out of those it's probably another 50/50 that they figured out within a few years they made a mistake.

That has me thinking, why were the boomer dads telling their generation X kids that if they got a girl pregnant they had to marry her? That's one thing my dad always harped on when I was a teenager with me and my brother and the families we hung out with and I thought he was dumb and come to find out 10 years later I was right.

I started dating my wife when I was still 16. I married her because I wanted to. I was 23 years old. We had four babies before we turned 30.

Today, I'm 63 and on vacation with my wife and 25 others including our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren. It's been great.

We got married in Vegas. It wasn't on a whim or anything, we dated for a year and were engaged for a year. We've been married for 21 years.
