Cheesy, but I knew I wanted to marry my wife after a couple of dates. We both had careers and the same ambitions. Had a clear vision on where we wanted our lives to be in the foreseeable future.

Still dated her for 6 years and lived together for 3 before I proposed.

Have been married 10 years and together for 16 now.

This to me is why the divorce rate is so high. Just bc you knock someone up doesn’t mean you have to marry them.

People tend to hang out with people like them. You gravitate towards each other. It appears your friends are a bunch of failures/losers when it comes to common sense in their love lives. Guys who constantly play victim as if life happens to them instead of having agency in their own love life. You and your friends are responsible for your own decisions.

Same. Marrying my wife was the best decision that I’ve ever made.

100% my idea. I’d marry her again!

The thought of being single and dating repulses me.

Me. I was 43, never married and was tired and burnt out on dating. I had an incredible woman so I put a ring on it before someone else did

I believe he answered his own question. A bunch of guys with a victim mentality.

I was 30 when we got married after dating for 2yrs. I was ready to start a family and tired of the party scene. I had my fill. Fortunately we had the same goals and career ambitions. Just celebrated 21yrs.

If you don’t find a person you like there is nothing wrong with being single. Absolutely nothing.

Started dating my wife at 29. Proposed after 7 months and married 6 months after that. Knocked her up 8 months after that. Happily married for 36 year with 3 kids.

My wife’s brother also has 3 kids with the baby mama he has knocked up 3 times in the last 25 years. She also had a son from a previous marriage that he raised as his own. They don’t even talk about getting married.

Where he bought a ring and was hoping & praying she said yes.

Just curious what percentage of married men actually wanted to ger married

This certainly explains your tattoo thread.

It was my fiance's idea to propose. I'm pretty happy with our life as it is.

As far as couples we know, it's a good mix of folks who got married in their 20s and 30s because they wanted to get married.

1st...thought it was time. Wanted kids

2nd...she got pregnant and I really wanted children. So we married. There is no reason to marry without trying for kids immediately.

A man is incomplete until he is married. Then, he is done.
