I can make it 6-8 months paying all bills and being frugal on groceries.

Maybe longer if I’m real careful

Many, and it has nothing to do with income.

I know many people making 30K with nice savings, and many making 300K with no savings.

You must have lived a very privileged life with no health issues or real emergencies. Most people aren’t as fortunate as you.

yep. If you’re an adult and don’t have at least a couple months in expenses fairly liquid, you’re very irresponsible

Agreed. But if you are say under 35 or so, and want to actually set aside money each month for said liquid savings—-would that not make you paycheck to paycheck?

I pay my bills in full every couple weeks when I get paid and set aside as much as I can from what’s left. Two months without a check and I’d be in trouble. I’d have to think that most people my age are in a similar situation.

No.

Being able to put aside savings isn't living paycheck to paycheck.

this pandemic should be a wake up call. Living paycheck to paycheck is immoral and selfish.
Could probably make it a 2 years with no paycheck with savings and if I liquidated quickly. Would keep the house and a car.

But I'm also living the DINK dream life right now.

I just started working in August of 2019. Thankfully loans didn’t start until December so I built up a bit of savings, but I couldn’t go more than 2 months without being fricked. Grant it I’m in healthcare so I’ll probably get OT out of this, but there are a lot of my classmates that live paycheck to paycheck

So good news. We carry critical illness insurance. Wonder if this crap applies to that?
