I kinda hope this kills all the stupid housing development in the non existent “st. George” area.

Not disagree so much as think it's naive.

You're essentially saying "if you're an adult and not upper middle class or above, you're irresponsible."

Whether we disagree or not is pretty irrelevant. The reality of the situation is that a lot of people can’t afford to not work.

you don’t have to be upper class to save maybe 7-20k if you’re older than like 23. Or you’re spending way too much.

My wife and I both work plant jobs. No way we could go a few weeks without working. I told her I would bite the bullet and be a male gigolo to make ends meet if it came to that. She started crying and said we were going to starve to death.

The only people who can afford not to work are students with mom and dad paying for their shite.

I 100% agree, but this whole thread goes in the opposite direction about 3 weeks ago

I agree with you but you are going out of your way to be a douchebag which results in downvotes

Fixed. It's called a monthly income that is set to last a life time plus.

I mean holy hell we got Roger spouting off how the government needs to support people who are struggling with all this. For YEARS he's never backed off the "Everything that has or will ever happen to you is within your control and only YOU have yourself to blame for ANY circumstances you find yourself in"

Funny to see those types straight up abandon their principles in less than a week.

What does “fairly liquid” mean? Does that include Roth IRAs? Because that is where all of my emergency funds are...

Which I guess isn’t great at the moment

It’s pretty fricking dumb to just have $20k sitting in a savings account

Ehh not really if you can swing it.

It's times like these you want the cash and not have to withdraw from retirement funds.

Yeah sure

Most people are going to set aside $20k just in case the entire economy crashes

I realize right now it all makes great sense to hoard everything, but the vast majority of the time it doesn’t

You literally can’t plan for everything

Yeah, you are right, my bad.
Anyway, people please take this serious, and support ideas of a middle-lower class bailout. That is all.

It's always funny since he's pretty much abandoned society to be a park ranger in Alaska.

Not everyone wants to do absolutely nothing in life.

I have plenty savings but would rather not use it to pay bills due to a stomach bug
