They should be treated like motorcycles, license required, and it should be enforced.

ETA: Back in the Spring three kids were riding them on a busy two lane road at rush hour. One of them busted a u-turn out of nowhere without looking and almost got wiped out by a car that was trying to get around them.

This.

License required, license plate and registration, and no using the engine on sidewalks.

They're cracking down on it up here. If they catch you on the street or side walks they'll stop you, give you a ticket, and make the parents come and pick up the kid and bike.

We have a biker gang of them, suburban white kids from the surrounding neighborhoods, that descend on the Publix shopping center almost every day during the Summer. I expect to see them in vests with patches any day now.

I saw one getting scolded by what looked like his grandma for riding the parking lot like a little shithead.

Police need to step up and enforce them.

Good luck. Police don’t do anything regarding traffic especially red light running.

I don’t notice them a lot but they shouldn’t be on the road. Anything that can’t keep with the posted speed needs the sidewalk. I’m also glad Mandeville has banned them from the trail since kids can’t behave themselves.

Fresno, of course, frowns upon that solution. So what they’ve done in older parts of the city is to take traffic lanes and convert them into bike only lanes. Which just pisses everyone off that’s in a car because of the extra congestion that it creates just to cater to a minuscule number of people.

OK loser.

So you just played tiddly winks in your driveway as a kid, never actually went out and did anything?

There's been bikes, dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, go karts, etc roaming neighborhoods all over america for decades. This isn't new.
