I think your FIL lied to you about what happened.
Possibly, but hightly doubtful. I appreciate your thoughts though.

Ol' Andy and Barney knew what was up 60 years ago when that spoiled little shite, named Arnold, kept causing trouble on his bike. Returned sanity to Mayberry in no time.

Was just in Atlanta and people just left them EVERYWHERE.
In the middle of the sidewalk, in front of stairs, hanging halfway out into the street, etc.
I can’t imagine just leaving something in the middle of the way and just walking away. Just insane.

quote:No kidding. I went to Charleston for the day a few weeks back and I was blown away by how bad the drivers were.
Don't see these much in Charleston. They must know how bad our drivers are so they stay off the roads.

I've only seen one kid slam into a vehicle. Truck was pulling out into traffic and this kid was hauling arse on the sidewalk and couldn't stop.
I'm surprised I haven't witnessed more accidents to be honest.
Lately I've seen a lot of e-bikes and scooters during peak traffic hours. These people never have any safety equipment on. Sooner or later I'm sure I'll see one of them get splatted.
