re: What to do around Oak Island/Southport NC
Posted by gmrkr5 on 4/17/26 at 1:44 pm to GREENHEAD22
Oak Island is one of the more quite barrier islands. There are a few restaurants and places to grab a drink but its mostly homes there. Southport is a cool little town with a waterfront with some bars and restaurants. Some pyscho shot up one of the bars from a boat last year so i dont know how that has affected the vibe... You could also take the ferry to Bald Head Island from Southport.
everybody up here knows you dont go to Myrtle...
those plants look like they wanted to die

Tadej Pogacar is a Slovenian professional cyclist and the highest earner in the sport. Nicknamed "Pogi", he rides for UCI WorldTeam UAE Team Emirates XRG. Pogacar's achievements include four Tour de France wins, the 2024 Giro d'Italia, and two World Championship Road Race titles. He's also won ten one-day Monuments and a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympic road race

Tadej Pogacar utilizes Zone 2 endurance training as a cornerstone of his preparation, often riding for 5 hours while maintaining a high, steady output of 290-340 watts. This high-intensity "Zone 2" (roughly 55-75% of his >400W FTP) keeps his lactate below 2 mmol/L, optimizing fat oxidation and mitochondrial development.
Tell that to Tadej Pogacar

Use them for actual coding, not advanced googling and you will see. Q is the most consistent from a turning ideas into code perspective.
I get it man…. You dont really know what i do for work so i’m just going to let it go. Q is bad

Not a joke at all, Q blows copilot and chatgpt out of the water in the IT space. It's not even comparable. Chatgpt can't structure an excel sheet without formula errors. It damn sure can't write code, Q is in a league of its own for agentic coding.
I got news for you man, they are all pretty awful in their own interesting way…. But Q cant even get AWS topics right. It is by far the worst AI assistant for accuracy. But hey, it will answer you like it’s right sooooo….

If you're not using Amazon Q for anything IT related you're using the wrong tool.
This is a joke, right??

I’m a new cyclist and considering the short course also. I’ve never done an organized event so it’s intimidating AF. Might go ride the short course one weekend and see how I do.
dont line up in the front. the start of these races are usually fast chaos and you wont enjoy being in the middle of that. find some folks that you look like you'd ride well with, line up around those folks and let things shake out. you may end up with a small group, you may be solo for a while. have fun

hell yea! I'll be down for it next year. The race organizer lives up here and I ride with him a good bit.
We’re right outside of Raleigh…. Lots and lots of sleet but minimal ice. Just started sleeting hard again. Should be the end of it
