How is your city dealing with the scourge of e-bikes being driven by teenagers?

These kids are a menace to society...they drive like jackasses and never obey driving rules.
I know of a case in Texas where a jogger was hit by a kid on an e-bike going 30mph...caused major injuries and jogger is suing parents.
I know four e-bikers have been killed in New Orleans alone.
What's the solution?

Parents held liable for child neglect and reckless endangerment or whatever similar charges for letting their little shitheads on those death traps.

Don't see these much in Charleston. They must know how bad our drivers are so they stay off the roads.

What's the solution?
Require age limits, DLs, and license plate registration.
We should be able to function without all of that, but we live in a low trust society and an overly litigious one.
Scruffy would support the freedom to ride any e-bike at any speed without all that if we also make it to where they cannot sue anyone under any circumstance and forfeit any right to socially funded medical care.

They’re everywhere in SW Florida. I’m scared I’m going to witness some 11 year old have to get scraped off the payment. The parents are insane.

Maybe they're a thing downtown, but I stick mostly to the surrounding islands when not in N Chuck for work.

We already have laws. Police need to step up and enforce them.

I was stopped at a stop sign yesterday and a kid was turning left on the street perpendicular to me. He turned too sharp and slid down right before hitting me. He was very close to getting a physics lesson he would never forget

I have seen multiple devastating accidents with poor outcomes.
These things are motorcycles.

The scooters are bad, too. I have seen a 12 year old girl zooming down my street and I could easily smoke her backing out of my driveway.

considering how often they get hit, it seems as though the city has decided to just run them over

Not true, the resulting brain injury would likely have led to significant memory loss for the event.

Tell them to get off my lawn while clutching pearls

We can blame the e-bikes, guns, and lack of late night activities... but we all know what the actual problem is. And there's no fixing it.
