I verbally berated the youths flying around at Dominic’s school yard when trying to teach my daughter to ride a bike.
They chased us back to our car with their superior numbers and aggression and have been circling us ever since. It’s been 3 days and we are running out of rations.

By Louisiana law, if it doesn’t have pedals, has a 750 watt or greater motor and is capable of 28 mph or greater, it is a motorized vehicle requiring registration and insurance. This is not being enforced as I suspect the law is relatively new and the dirt bikes are being sold by bicycle shops not registered dealers. Law enforcement will catch up one day. This is one of many laws not being enforced, but when enough people get hurt it will be. Parents who buy these things are absolutely liable for knowing the law and for whatever damage their children cause.

Rather a kid driving like a jacksss on a e-bike than in a car.
I wish more kids would ride e-bikes than drive.

I actually have somewhat mixed feelings about them. Kids are truly everywhere in lakeview and old Metairie. Saw a kid break his leg crashing into the back of a parked car at lakeview grocery, likely because the acceleration on these things is instantaneous.
On the other hand, kids are everywhere out and about and doing something without a phone so I don’t know.

In BSL these bikes just add another layer of terrible drivers (adults and kids) to the already crappy, narrow streets.
Folks on golf carts and e-bikes don’t follow any traffic laws.

I live in FL, where golf carts riding on roads only get pulled over if they cause an inconvenience to a LEO. The E-bikes started out being ridden everywhere by people with DUI's that need transportation. Now, kids are everywhere on them. The HOA's are starting to weep about them, and my UTV. They never said Jack squat about golf carts before, so they can suck an aids dick. They have sent out letters warning that Karens are calling Grady every time they see a UTV, golf cart, or minibike on the road.

This and they are everywhere in the burbs of NE Houston as well.
Is there a dress code to ride these things? All of them I see wear black with black helmets in 100 degree plus heat, which I guess if a good thing when these little menaces to society get plastered by a driver of a car that is glued to their phone and not paying attention.

I was over having drinks in the Ion neighborhood of Mt Pleasant yesterday and can confirm they are everywhere. Not yutes/"teens" driving them though...wealthy white kids. Many were not wearing helmets. But I guess to their credit all were in the street and not on the sidewalk
