But for some on that roster, they will remain their coaches.
Tulane is maxed out. This is the best it’s ever going to get. The best possible outcome is a replication of this season.

Tulane didn’t want to meet Baker’s vision of improving facilities and increasing NIL.

Without that, the opportunity of success is very slim, and it looks like this season, nothing more.

If Tulane improved facilities and increased NIL, Baker could be the coach that brought Tulane from G5 to P4. That’s a much bigger success than getting your arse handed to you in the playoffs.

That conversation was probably not a hard sell. He got a raise, less than what Tulane offered, but his path for success with LSU is far wider than the narrow road he would have to traverse with Tulane and those limitations.

Hard reset your phone.

Press the up volume button, then the down volume button, while holding the button on the right side. You have to do this quickly.

Release the down volume button and the right button when the apple icon pops up.

That will get rid of it.

This. We’ve seen growth at several positions this year. Continue that and add more youth to continue your rebuild.

re: Shough is the future

It’s blatantly obvious Shough is a better QB than Rattler, and it’s not even close.

Rattler has a career in this league, as a back up that can keep things together for a few games.

Shough may be the guy.
3 losses. They don’t deserve it. No other case needs to be made. If it were any team not named bama this point be a conversation.
He wasn’t replaced. He wants to fish and spend time with his family.

Tulane was a charter member of the SEC, and had a pretty rich football tradition, until they decided at some point in the 60’s they didn’t really want to be serious about football any more.

Another one of their default argument points.

Do they not realize you can have both? Newsflash: ND, Michigan, Duke, UNC, Stanford, etc., all are more prestigious academically and all have had athletic success well beyond what Tulane could even dream of in their current form.

What is the likelihood that they land yet another great coach and not Buddy Teevens?

Sumrall is a really good fricking coach. Fritz is quietly building a program in Houston. Baker was the next one, but he wasn’t going to walk into a job with 0 opportunity for growth.

Yes, absolutely maxed out. The chances of actually winning a playoff game is small. The chances if winning 2 is almost nil.

Baker goes to Tulane and he’s expected to replicate this season with the same or nearly same resources, even though we have seen a huge jump in resource investment from the likes of LSU and UF and even G5 schools.

It’s an un winnable position.
I actually think it would be a cool story if Tulane made those kind of strides.

It still wouldn’t compete with LSU, but it would make things more interesting. A fight over a player every few years, maybe an actual game between the two, etc.
Twitter is white hot with pissed off greenies.

Baker turned down Tulane because of two things:

1) his idea of improved facilities did not align with their idea of improved facilities.

2) he wanted more NIL, not more salary.

Without these two things in place, Baker’s best hope was repeating this season. That’s it. Tulane is maxed out.

With those two things, Baker could have led the university into a P4 conference.

Tulane folks think ACC, but B12 makes more sense to me. ACC may fit Tulane more from an institutional perspective, but adding Tulane does little for the ACC. The B12 has wanted a foothold in Louisiana and New Orleans would be a signature spot for their championship. Tulane also helps on the academic side of the house.

Nope, Tulane fans think they got jilted by an alum because Baker just wanted more money. frick the fact that Tulane offered more money than LSU.

I hope you’re right, but it’s a shame Tulane can’t reel in their own with some alumni support.

Would you turn down a chance to be a head coach at your alma mater and 4M dollars?

That’s what you are asking the man to do.
He was lazy. No matter the people around him, you have to want to work.
They know whether it’s happening or not. Sitting in the announcement, if that is indeed what’s happening, is a professional courtesy.
It’s his alma mater and a chance to be a head coach with a giant raise. I see your concern…
Gotta cull the herd somehow.
