Since the birth of the playoffs, only one team didn’t drop a single spot after losing its conf champ game: 2025 Bama

Some of us saw it coming!

Yup
FSU being left out of the playoff is still by far the biggest travesty in CFB history.

They have actually done this several times over the years. They should really stop putting out rankings earlier in the season as those rankings are often times horribly flawed and when they try to "fix" them it creates obvious bullshite they have to do.

This 1000%
The biggest part here is that I think if UGA was the #2 seed, they would have placed that game in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl since UGA is the higher seed.

Now that game is in Arizona, so that is a pretty big deal.

Is this the only bowl game without participants?
Someone in another thread brought up a good point... we're all tired of these changes, but there's not a comparable alternative product. College Football Saturdays are so engrained in our culture and is just the norm for us. Our hearts might not be in it as much, but we're not going to stop watching.
Replay assist was incorrect

Don Mattingly misses by 6 votes. Yankee great, but more importantly former Marlins manager!
LSU should go play in this one then the Texas Bowl
Interesting comments at the end about how she will never schedule a game at Louisiana Tech. Makes sense though.
Lol Caleb. Nice throw dude

BYU would like a word

BYU was not in the bracket. Don't understand why people keep parroting this point.
Of course not, but my team also sucks.

If LSU is 11-1 and makes the playoffs next year, I am sure I'll be very invested. But overall, the magic of the sport is gone.
They just have to decide on the amount of bids per conference, then let each conference determine how they want to send their teams. Kind of similar to how each conference gets to determine the format of their college basketball tournament.

If the SEC gets 4 teams, you could see the SEC Championship Game with both participants automatically in the CFP, then two play-in games to determine the other two bids. 3 vs. 6, 4 vs. 5.
Bama in. Committee wasn't going to bounce a team from in the bracket to out of the bracket for losing an extra game.

BYU was top-12 and didn't make the playoff after their loss. Explain that

BYU was not in the bracket before their game. Very easy to explain.

BYU dropped 1 spot, Ohio State dropped 1 spot, Virginia dropped 2 spots, North Texas dropped 1 spot.

Bama didn't drop, so I hear the complaint. But it's clear the committee did not want to penalize the champ game losers very much across the board.

The hybrid Ohio State/Notre Dame fan on this board is very butthurt.

Not a fair comparison. JMU and Tulane were not in the playoff field until they auto-qualified.

Bama was in the field as an at-large team going into the games yesterday.

Bama beat that Georgia team at Georgia.

BYU got beat both times.

A shite ton of people on this board think Bama's win in Athens is now completely negated because they lost yesterday.

These people just can't see through their hate for Bama. The committee got it right.
