Damn, I hope everything worked out ok.
I bet the worst part for him was the 2 Auburn football seasons that occurred in that 24 months

Life can be unbearably hard, and it doesn't always get better. Sometimes it keeps getting worse. I don't have an answer except endure it as long as you can, and try to find comfort in any moments of relief here and there.

Through faith and prayer understand, ahead of time, these seasons are opportunity for growth. You gotta go through it in order to grow through it.

Tough times will come
The prayer is for strength to handle the tough times
I’ve spoken to several people who’ve struggled through tough times. I’ve met people struggling with the impact of the loss of children, terminal illness, suicide, terrible financial struggles, and things in between.Situations differ.
Generally though, It’s important to know that the tough times are inevitable. I don’t tend to believe that it’s personal or some sort of karma. I seen some bad stuff happen to good people.
I generally advise them to live positive- avoid the “why me” rabbit hole.
Prayer is positive. Exercise is positive. Eating healthy is positive. Keeping in mind that tough times come and go. It’s the same for Good times too.
I find strength by keeping my mind set on the possibility that some day, through the painful period, I will be able to be a source of strength or positive influence to someone else who needs it. That is the essence of being human.
So through the painful period, you become a more rounded human. You become someone who can better understand others. And with that, you are more able to help others.
That’s not to suggest that we should invite pain into our lives. It’s just working from the basis that it will just happen.
It’s also important to know that through the pain, there is given a better appreciation for the beauty of life. Sometimes you have to look for it. So make lookong a habit. Do it daily.
So hang in there.

I get up every morning and eat a big bowl of suck-it-the-frick-up.

Exercise? Drinking? Prayer?
For me:
1. DIY projects that I'm not used to doing and require a lot of work.
For example, my Mother had bad accident a few years back and I needed to constantly travel and stay at her house while she was recovering. I gut renovated a bathroom there.
During a bad breakup a few years ago, I repainted every room of my house and built new shelving for my shop.
2. Go out to eat/drink more with friends.

-keep things in perspective
-understand most hypotheticals in your mind are not real and will not happen
-exercise (just a 20 min run will do a lot)

Go to MD Anderson and get it taken out.
Unless it spread and that’s a different deal. Best of luck to you. The feelings you have are natural

I pray constantly-and when there’s a crisis in my family-I ask aloud for God to have complete sovereignty. The hard part is letting it go after I’ve asked for that. Praying constantly is how I handle the easier times, too.

Try to have something to look forward to or work toward. Exercise/Training help as well.

in a roughly 24 month period:
- i lost both my parents and my brother
- i was diagnosed with prostate cancer
- COVID happened
- my wife lost her job
- i had a prostatectomy
- we moved my 90 year old m-i-l in with us
- my kid went through a major earthquake
- we were hit with a Cat 3 hurricane
you learn to play the hand with which you’re dealt
Could be worse. Your nickname could be "Lucky" and having to deal with all that going on.
All kidding aside, that's a hell of a lot to deal with in that short of a time. Sometimes you just have to roll with it and hope for better times.

A good exercise—
Write down the stuff you are worried about right now. Wait six months. Read it. Realize how little of that shot mattered at all.

Working, spending time with daughter and family… also I’m old enough now I don’t exactly expect hard times but accept hard times (if that makes sense)…my Grandma always said “if the good Lord woke you up this morning he did his part you gotta handle the rest” God did the heavy lifting

A lot of prayer and just taking things day-by-day. My husband currently has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. There are a lot of smaller things we are dealing with as well, but terminal cancer is the looming shadow over our lives at the moment.
I also find just being open with people helps. No one wants to be vulnerable, but I have found that when I open up, others do the same. There are a lot of hurting people around us and we can draw a lot of strength and courage from others.
Also, people want to help. I have had to swallow my pride a lot on the last few months and ask for help because I couldn't be three places at once.

Exercise, prayer.
Keep your eyes on the road that's ahead of you.

Very sorry to hear this. God bless you and your husband.
Being open is such good advice. So many have gone through similar struggles and can both relate and help.
