No, it perfectly coincides with what was being discussed. The reason being that government fails all the time due to the people that operate it.
quote:
I disagreed with the first part. People will not always fail you. That’s bullshite.
Wow. I was unaware you are neighbors with Jesus. Forgive me.
Wow! I wrote that people will not always fail you, and your response was that I implied I was neighbors with Jesus. Are you on hallucinogens?
As to your first statement above: You give AN example of people (actually an institution) failing. You seem to be unaware that this doesn’t make your case that people will ALWAYS fail you, which is what you incorrectly asserted.
Governments have succeeded at many things. Ours has successfully prevented us from being invaded for two centuries. So “people” (using your example of government as a people-run institution) at least sometimes succeed. This lone example disproves your assertion.
In my life, I have found that people rarely let me down. Even my government has been mostly successful in preventing anarchy, eradicating diseases, delivering the mail and managing the economy. My neighbors and family have also helped me when I’ve been in need. People are mostly good.

How do you guys handle hard times?
The biggest thing is not allowing your problems to multiply due to a poor mindset because they absolutely will do so if you let them.
For example, let’s say John Doe gets laid off on Friday afternoon. He’s understandably down about it and goes to the bar that night to have some drinks and waste away. He leaves and gets pulled over and gets charged with a DUI (or whatever it’s called nowadays). Now he has two problems instead of one entirely because he let the first problem affect his mental state.
Beyond that, I think working out is one of the best things anyone can do in their spare time at any age. It makes you look better, feel better, and helps build discipline, consistency, and confidence that positively influences other parts of your life.

Thread took a heavy turn real fast. Respect to guys like duckblind56 and FearlessFreep for sharing, puts a lot of our daily stress into perspective. Hope you find whatever works for you, OP.

Be lucky enough to have people close to you to talk to.

As someone of faith i definitely start there. But this cliche movie line has always stuck with me as being very truthful
quote:
“A man only needs one thing in life. He needs someone to love. And if you can’t give him that, give him something to hope for. And if you can’t give him that, just give him something to do.”

Return to your faith and be steadfast in it.

Fitness. Running, hiking, stairs, lifting and trying to physically exhaust myself. Anything that can mentally take me away from my own head. Being dormant is the worst thing a person can do.
