The moon isn't "on the way" to anywhere. It's in orbit around the Earth (technically the Moon and Earth orbit around the Earth's barycenter - and both share an orbit pathway around the Sun).

It’s about being able to launch into deeper space to Mars, etc from lunar orbit with much less gravitational drag than doing it from Earth.

I don't think most people get called morons for asking these questions. Hell, most of us asked the same questions in fourth grade. People get called morons for doing what the OP is doing: asking a question, ignoring the answer, immediately jumping to another easily answered question, and repeating the process indefinitely.

There's nothing wrong with questioning established facts. The problem is refusing to acknowledge the answers because they contradict your preconceived conclusions. At that point, you're not asking questions to learn anything. You're just looking for excuses to keep believing what you've already decided is true.

Why havent we gone back?

We originally went to see if the moon was made of cheese, then went back a few more times to make absolutely certain it wasn't cheese.

There was a broadcast from the moon, but not live streamed in the modern sense of the word.

Why do we need to explore deep space?

Why the Hell did Columbus sail west across the Atlantic ?

Most of us are explorers who would like to visit other planets.

Probably a waste of money because there’s nothing there. It was just a dick measuring contest with the Soviets to see who could do it first

With the invent of reusable rockets, it's now potentially a financial "goldmine".

There were live tv signals and audio that came directly from the surface of the moon to Earth.

Well by that definition, considering the internet wasn't invented yet....

This predates even Arpanet...

It’s a very interesting wormhole to go down into. I (personally) think that if you take all the evidence in hand, and consider the idiosyncrasies / unexplained issues for what they are (without frothing at the mouth, just consider them, dismiss some as non-issues, acknowledge some as real or potential issues, etc.), then it makes it unlikely (e.g. 45% probability) that the moon landing footage shown to the public was an accurate depiction of the US traveling to the moon surface. That doesn’t mean that we didn’t land on the moon in a fashion analogous to the footage, im speaking exclusively to the validity of the footage. I think it is more likely than not that the moon landing footage was “faked,” as it were. The implications of that are very interesting, but are altogether a separate and unrelated topic in my view.
