Also Forbes told us that we lost the technology and had to re learn it.
Forbes says when Appollo was shut down we lost technology.

If we landed on the moon in 1969 and the astronauts causally planted a flag there, then we should be pulling up in swarms by now.
You can’t just take the plans from over 50 years ago and just do it the same way. That’s not how technology works my man.

You’re kinda shooting yourself in the foot with this one.

How did we livestream the moon landing?
Camera and radio transmission.

And how did the president talk to them on a land line?
He didn’t. He called NASA and was patched into NASA’s comms.

That's how parachutes work.

So youre telling me the government destroyed the physical hardware that was capable of sending humans to the moon and we are incapable of recreating it till 2020?
HAHAHAHAHA
We spent 4 percent of the budget on it and then just scrapped that shite after we convinced the world we could do it.

How yall believe that thing actually landed on the moon and then relaunched off the moon and made it back to earth with no problems is hilarious.
True. We are definitely the idiots in this thread, not you.

Humans havent touched the surface since 1969. If it was that easy they'd have sent humans with iPhone to take selfies.
If you’re going to make asinine arguments about the Apollo program, at least get your facts (such as they are) correct. The FIRST Apllo mission that included a manned lunar landing was in July 1969. The last Apollo mission that included a manned lunar landing was in December 1972. Between those two missions were four others where men landed and walked on the moon.

Why didnt the first guy who climbed Everest ever climb it again?
There isn’t much we can benefit from going to the surface of the moon again. It’s just a big rock and we’ve already gathered samples.

NASA thinks we need to go back. In fact we are doing it in 2028.

Camera mounted on the lunar module (also on the rover in later missions) transmitted by a small dish and received by ginormous dishes in Australia and California, which was then converted to a television signal and broadcast on the networks.
I recall a video about the moon landing and the video tech used for the mission. Due to the bandwidth limitations the video was limited to 10 frames per second and had to be shown on a special display. Normal TV bandwidth for a full TV signal with audio and video is something like 6 MHz for a traditional RF channel.
For the first mission, they only had 500 kHz of spectrum to transmit the TV signal. Once the 500 kHz signal was received, it was recorded to a special data tape and a separate signal went to scan converter with special display that had a regular TV camera pointed at the screen. That signal was what was transmitted to the networks for air for the original moon landing.
Later missions had a color camera onboard that used a little more bandwidth between 2-3 MHz but had fewer lines than traditional video.
As to why people get confused as to why the moon landing came from a TV studio, CBS with its large news budget hired some actors to simulate some functions of the landing for illustrative purposes because there would be no video from NASA at the time to show. You have remember this is before AI and computer animations could be generated rather quickly. Back then it was easier to setup a sound stage, a few props, and a few actors in fake spacesuits.
I guess they could only stand showing uncle Walter and his panel for so long.

Just curious, how old are you?
You do realize we had technology back in the late sixties, right?

Correct…
It was called a kinescope…
Many of the original tv series like the Honeymooners were recorded with it…

A kinescope refers to a historical method of recording live television broadcasts onto motion picture film, as well as the original cathode-ray tube used in early television sets.

Its funny how we could only go around the moon with Artemis 2.
You seem to have a complete lack of understanding how lunar programs work.
I’ll start with Apollo:
Apollo 1 (1967) exploded on the launch pad while testing systems. It never flew.
Apollo 4 (1967) first actual launch of the Saturn V rocket. This mission was unmanned.
Apollo 5 (1968) second unmanned launch to test the Saturn V rocket, again only went into earth orbit.
Apollo 7 (1968) first manned launch of Saturn V rocket. Tested command module during 11 day earth orbit.
Apollo 8 (1968) first manned mission to leave earth’s orbit. Orbited the moon 11 times, never landed, and returned to earth.
Apollo 9 (1969) manned mission to earth orbit to test docking the command module and lunar lander.
Apollo 10 (1969) manned mission that served as a “dress rehearsal” for a lunar landing. This mission included a manned flight of the lunar lander that came within 9 nautical miles of the moon’s surface.
Apollo 11 (1969) the first manned lunar landing in human history.
So you see, going to the moon doesn’t mean just building a big-assed rocket and simply launching it at the moon. It’s multiple missions to test systems and procedures. There were 7 Apollo missions before we landed on the moon, 4 before we even orbited the moon, and there were three more after that, one of which was only to earth orbit, before we finally landed on the moon.

It’s not brain-busting stuff.
I beg to differ. For some, it is absolutely brain-busting to the infinite degree.
Next, they'll be trying to compare today's technology to that of 80 years ago.
I mean, that's a very fair argument. Also, why were on the subject, whey didn't cave men use a bic lighter to light their fires? It is so much easier than rubbing two sticks together.
ETA: oh shite! the very next post?

Why are we going in 2028 then? Apparently NASA thinks we need to.
Artemis 4 is slated to land on the moon in 2028.
So our technology has regressed since then?
This guy really trying to make out like going to the moon is as easy as jumping on his eScooter and riding down to starbucks to siphon off some free wifi all day?
