The playoffs have accelerated the corruption. The only way to cull some of this is to have a static number of teams from each conference make it. For example if the SEC can get only 4 but always 4 in, the refs may not cheat quite as much in non Alabama games

To be honest I don't think about the Saban era at all. He built the program after taking over from Dinardo, but really only had one season that would have been acceptable to today's fans.
