Ironically there are probably a few people posting “those all white kitchens are ugly” while their kitchens look like this.

I don’t see a single cringey arse “Life Laugh Love” sign in there so that’s always good

Off topic but I saw a woman the other day with a tramp stamp that said "Life Laugh Love".

Man, I totally agree. I'm building a house right now, and I had the architect steer well clear of that fad. I think it looks nice, but it's so overdone.

White cabinets will never be out of style, though they may not be trendy.

I don’t think white kitchens are exactly “trendy”, it’s more of a timeless look. In 10 years it may not be the hot look anymore, but it won’t be something that looks dated or ridiculous like other trends have

"modern" look is 50 shades of gray, it's a bit lazy and non-artistic in my opinion

also, if you have that bright white brick you better get your arse out there and clean it quite often

Open concept will also go away again

Not in smaller homes/spaces.

But yes, it will fade away in homes with >3,500 square feet of space.

Nothing is as bad as the 70s with shag carpet and cheap wood paneling or wallpaper

Why build with brick, if you're gonna paint over it? Makes no sense

My wife wants to replace our knotty cypress cabinets with a "cleaner" look. I cringe every time she brings it up, but I'm afraid she'll win out eventually.

This is every single house going up in westhaven... And they're all going for over $1mil with bidding wars taking place each time one is far enough along that it's up for sale.

Then the kitchen is all white with white quartz, a blue island, "farmhouse" sink, and gold fixtures

While it is pretty, we've already decided we won't even entertain this when we start building. I imagine all trends are like this, but this is one trend I've noticed was only in big/high end homes.. and then people caught on and started putting it in starter homes to look as nice as the expensive ones. Now $1MM homes and $250k homes have the same design scheme, just one is smaller.

I'm big on character, eccentricity even. I want my home to reflect who I am, where we've been, etc. I want it to feel like home. The trendy all white look doesn't show anyone's personality.

I am going to remove but you can cover it using furring strips. Most stucco on residential houses isn't real stucco. It's a bastardized version of stucco so there is usually OSB behind it you can nail to.

How big of a job is it to remove (fake stucco)?
