I hate it when you walk into a house and see almost nothing but white except for the kitchen island.
You can't half arse Scandinavian interior design. You have to have the right bold cues to offset the white.

I’m pretty a sure a white shaker kitchen with white stone counters has always been in style.

Then the kitchen is all white with white quartz, a blue island, "farmhouse" sink, and gold fixtures
I've got some bad news for you....

Painted brick looks good on older remodeled houses but is kind of pointless on new builds. #brickisbeautiful

I wouldn't paint over something like this.
But I have this style brick and am contemplating painting over it because it just dates the house to the 50s.

Not only is that sink not lined up with the window, but the left side of it looks like it's not fully clear of the cabinet above it. That would drive me insane.
You could fix all of that if you redid the kitchen, but that's not where I would spend my money.

These subdivisions popping up everywhere with only three (very similar) floorplans and the style ref in OP already look like some sort of cult compound.

All the lower cabinets need to be the blue color. Too much white on the back wall.

1, 2, and 4 look great. I would do that style in my house.
3 I'm not sure if it is the yellow color that is doing it but the whole room looks awful. And I feel dizzy looking at the rug.

Since we have the OT design pros here, let me know what you think of this tile we are thinking about to surround our fireplace. I haven’t been able to find any examples of this type of tile around a fireplace, so I’m a little hesitant.

our new house is mainly all white. Island is stained, has the big stainless and brass hood, chrome and gold fixtrues.
Personally i have had color everywhere in my old house built in 2010, we had updated it to all neutral colors like grey and white and it looked a shite ton better.
Personally i like the clean look of white and other neutral colors.
As far as painting brick...its not much maintenance, no more so than painting anything else imo. But if its a new home....my personal opinion is its ok to pain some offsets(this is what we did) but pick a brick that will last the test of time, or atleast 20 years. then update it by painting it then.
old remodel....yea prolly have to paint it to make it look modern.
btw, stout....drive by this week sometime, the new house looks much better now that landscaping and sod are in.

TBH I don’t mind that look especially the interior

People have been painting bricks white for 150 years. The inside stuff is constantly changing.

Dunno about when it’s going to be outdated, but that sink not square with the window and overhead lamp would drive me crazy every time I stepped into the kitchen.
Yea that pic looks awful that’s a terrible design

Hell, I still like that style

I like it because it's ageless and clean....
It's much better than the Avocado of the 70's and Formica over wooden of the 80's....

Its called modern farmhouse bro

It looks fine as long as not everyone around you has it. Same can be said for cars that have that glossy battleship grey. It looked awesome when 1st introduced now I’ve seen Toyota Tercel’s with it and it went from awesome to “no thanks” in just 5 years.
