I've been very hesitant to post about that one, but the GFS continues to get more and more and more interesting.

Here's a hint: Western gulf now and strong.

If I am in a flood prone area of W NC/E TN, flash or otherwise, I am considering evacing just as if I was on the coast for this one. This is a catastrophic flooding event in the making

But it sits for a while and it also has not been consistent. Some runs it forms, others its non existant.

Some dude just held a Trump flag up in front of that Cedar Key live cam. TWC quickly took it off the screen.

12z gfs has that next system enter the Gulf as a tropical storm and sit stationary in the Bay of Campeche for 8 days and bottom out at 928 mb.

do they really have to wait 3 outs to upgrade it to a major officially?

no. its just that the advisories are 3 hours apart, so the fact its probably a 3 right now, but wasnt 30 mins ago is inconvenient. Woulda be better to have it released on the 2pm et Advisory

Gonna be a fun night on the radar in Jacksonville.

I’m just south of Jax in St. John’s county. My biggest fear is a overnight spinner!

If you or someone you know is a Florida resident in the path of the hurricane and for some reason can't or shouldn't be driving and needs to get to a shelter, Uber will take you to a shelter for free. Put in the code HELENE RELIEF

10 mph increase in 45 minutes... maybe it can still get up to 135+-140mph... Atl may get low low end cat 1 winds in a defined area.

From who?

if this is Delta using his CTFSH model, then it doesn't count.

This guy does good work tracking down and mapping public shelters. He's been working on the Helene impact area. The link opens to a Google Maps layer with shelter locations.
