Gauges at Barker failed due to high water Monday evening.
The USGS local station can't get to them due to high water, so Houston officials were sending high water vehicles to get them and try to install temporary gauges to monitor the height.

I grew up close to there and that area floods very badly. The cleanup from Allison took years and years. It's kind of a bowl plus Spring Creek runs right behind it. It's also almost all one story houses. Hopefully your friend was able to get it out and is okay.

slack what are you hearing on the previous map of flooding west into Cinco area? The previous area showed over to near 99. Is that still in play? Is the release what's helping to keep the water closer east near Barker (east of Fry)?
I also hear that the Brazos is now expected to crest at 57.5' instead of 59' which is great news.

10 a.m.: Tropical Storm Harvey to make second landfall in Louisiana
Tropical Storm Harvey is expected to make its second landfall in Louisiana, according to the National Hurricane Center.
It is expected to reach the Texas-Louisiana border by Wednesday afternoon.
Harvey will remain a tropical storm through early Thursday.
Tuesday morning, it was 114 miles from Houston, moving at 5 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Maximum sustained winds are 145 mph.

From what I understand, those locations are fine due to their elevation. They don't expect Barker to get higher than 104.4, because up to that point, the water will begin flowing around/over the dam and spilling into other areas. They expect Barker overflow to be confined to the ditches around the dam, but they're not sure. Addicks overflow is another story entirely.

They are smack dab in the middle of Glen Loch, looks like the highest point... So fingers crossed.
I know the N and S ends of Glen Loch are flooded, as the roads show closed, but not where they are/were at.
