Houston Police officer drowns in Harvey floodwaters

A Houston police officer drowned in his patrol car in Harvey floodwaters, according to three department officials.
The officer, an HPD veteran who has been with the department for more than 30 years, was in his patrol car driving to work downtown Sunday morning when he got trapped in high water at I-45 and the Hardy Toll Road.
Search and rescue crews are currently recovering his body. The department has not yet formally notified the officer's family.
"He was trying different routes, and took a wrong turn," one high-ranking official said, asking not to be identified.
After getting trapped in high water, the officer tried to get out but was unable to.

Radar looks like the rain just keeps building HEAVIER going over Galveston and toward Houston. Can't catch a freaking break, it seems. Insane.

Having one location measure over 49 inches is ridiculous, but having 30-something locations spread out over more than 5,000 square miles with 25+ is absolutely insane.
College Station was on the edge of the storm and got almost 20 inches.

You should be good. Barker isn't supposed to get higher than 104.4.
It is a pretty safe bet that every home east of Fry Rd toward the Barker reservoir will get water. Most homes south of Westheimer and east of Peek will also have water.
That is an insane amount of homes that aren't flooded yet, but will be.

Flooding + winds starting to come out of the north. There is no seawall on the north side of Galveston.
