re: Help me plan our road trip from Salt Lake City - CajunAlum Tiger Fan
We're open to whatever, honestly. We've done Yellowstone and the Tetons, so no real need to see them again, although we may because we are in the area. We hadn't planned on going to glacier because of all I've read on the board about the better sections being closed. ...

We did, but I've found it thought to be flexible because camping spots need to be booked in advance. Hotels/lodges/airbnb are easier and cheaper....

Help me plan our road trip from Salt Lake City - CajunAlum Tiger Fan
I posted an earlier thread about whether or not to go on a road trip under the current conditions and based on replies, we are going for it. I'm doing my own homework, but I'd appreciate any advice from the board on planning this trip. We are flying into SLC at the end of July and spending 11 da...

I just turned it on and they are taking calls from viewers to answer that question. The calls are interesting and also quite predictable. Worth a listen....

re: Road trip - western US under these conditions? - CajunAlum Tiger Fan
[quote]Its definitely going to effect the National Parks. First off, I think a lot of people have this same idea. Do you have lodging lined up? I wouldn't wing your lodging, many places out west it can be 60 miles until the next hotel. Would I do it if I could? Absolutely, just be flexible and n...

Road trip - western US under these conditions? - CajunAlum Tiger Fan
We are looking into flying out West (SLC probably because flights are cheap) and taking a 2 week road trip bouncing around National Parks, grand canyon, etc. in mid July. Question for the board: Is it still worthwhile under these conditions? The governor of Arizona is shutting everything down ...

It sounds cheesy, but we took our kids (7/8 at the time) to a quartz mine to dig for "treasure". It was a great time for them, better than expected for us. I think it was called sweet surrender. ...

re: Best finish for an outdoor cypress table? - CajunAlum Tiger Fan
[quote]What is the bigger abuser? Sun or Rain? Most finishes will hold up under rain, but sun will boil the finish right off of it. Best finish for an outdoor cypress table? - CajunAlum Tiger Fan
I have a cypress table for my primo ceramic cooker that will be outdoors in a very shady, often damp area without a cover. I like the look of unfinished cypress, but in this area, unfinished cypress rots within a few years. What's the best finish (type and brand, please) that I can use so this las...
