“Haha what a loser! When’s the last time he’s had sex?!?”

- some guy who tracks and melts over where 17 year olds play football

I wonder if they would be surprised to know that this guy plays AD&D too.

Joe Manganiello - Dungeon (man cave)

So he lives in Beverly Hills, is married to Sofia Vergara (pretty sure he is nailing THAT on the reg) and plays D&D with many of the movers an shakers of Beverly Hills (DB Weiss).

Arkhan Steals the "Hand of Vacns"....LOLOL

A D&D "dungeon master" is mostly just an interactive storyteller. From what I gather, it takes a tremendous amount of creativity and preparation to do it well

Yeah, I did it for a while with another pen and paper game system called world of darkness. Created all sorts of NPCs, designed whole cities and towns. Fun areas to explore and secrets to discover. Riddles, battles,

There was a whole gang of circus themed midgets who controlled a Coney Island-Esque Boardwalk area…and one of my player characters had an irrational hatred/fear of dwarves AND clowns.

That was a fun, shotgun blast filled session.

"Robert may actually turn out to be a serial killer."

"Be leery of Robert, he seems detached from reality."

He actually seems more normal and stable than much of the OT

I know a guy who has been in the same MLB fantasy keeper league for over 20 years.

I don't see how this is all that much different.

It's pretty impressive that he has had the dedication to keep it up IMO.

I played 35 years ago (exact same time-line as Stranger Things). Mom (no pics) has boxed and moved, three times, everyone of my childhood possessions, except for the D & D collection. Nostalgic value to collectors would about $1500+. They're "missing".

I’ve played off and on for more than 40 years, too. Not continuously like this guy, though, which is incredible. Hats off to him!

An earlier poster had it right. D&D is a great way to keep up with friends and make new ones, too. All it takes is a little imagination.

I still have a full set of old school AD&D books from the early 80’s. Each book is worth hundreds. Back in the day we fought each other to read them.

I laughed- a kid who wasn’t allowed to read Harry Potter

My pastor at the time had the same take on Harry Potter. My wife bought it, while I laughed about it. Now, we all laugh about it, but my kids never read or watched anything Harry Potter.

I first played D & D maybe 4 years ago, and it's proven a good way for a group of friends to get together, stay connected, and keep up with each other, in addition to playing the game. We often laugh, we sometimes cry, and we support each other through life's ups and downs. For reference purposes, the eight of us range in age from 23 - 62.

We're currently on our second campaign, with our first lasting about 3 years, and we're playing by 5th edition rules. Speaking for myself, it's helped me become more imaginative and creative as I've chosen my characters, contributed to their personalities, and planned / executed my actions or strategies in each game.

If you're gonna do it, do it the best

If I was ever gonna D&D I'd want it to be at this dudes game.

See my post ^^ above.

About 32 years ago I had some good vinyl: Kiss, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden.
That nostalgia went "missing" too.
I am starting to see the pattern emerge.

We're all going straight to hell just like our momma's said. (Drivin' & Cryin')

I was considered a hell raiser beyond salvation for playing D&D and loving Pantera, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, DIO, etc.
