re: When did society decide children in public were a nuisance?

Kids should not be allowed at breweries
Breweries don't bother me. People aren't going to breweries and getting smashed like they would at a bar.
Kids in public are fine. It's bad parents that make it not fine.
Wife and I were at a restaurant with friends a few days ago. Place was basically empty. A young couple came in with their kid, maybe 3-4 years old. Precious little girl but they let her run all over the restaurant. Several times she walked over to our table and just stood there, watching us. And I worried because based on her height it would have been easy to turn suddenly and she could catch an elbow.
The parents would just watch and do nothing. We made a few light hearted jokes and they got up and got her, but within seconds she was back.
It wasn't her fault. She was a little kid. But the parents were content letting her treat a restaurant like a playground.

Which one of you jerks harassed The Golden Guys?

Fess up!

As the kids would say, based.

The Baton Rouge all-male dance group, the Golden Guys, marched in the Krewe of Comogo parade in Plaquemine for the first time Sunday evening. It may very well be their last.
As the men danced their way down the route, they had homophobic slurs and beads aggressively hurled at them while police officers did little to stop it, they said.
“We get the occasional gay comment, but this was using the ‘f-a-g’ slur. And I saw the kids say it,” said Kevin Piper, a member of the group.

Piper said many of the people who said the slurs were younger people and looked high school-aged. He even confronted a mom who stood by as her son shouted obscenities.
re: Sushi lovers — at what point did you become a sushi snob?

I love sashimi and chef-created dishes and have eaten at some very high end sushi places around the country, but this...
is just a tad dramatic. I can enjoy fun rolls with no issue and it's not that serious.

Looking back I’m ashamed of myself that I ever ordered a shaggy dog roll, Philadelphia roll, California roll, etc… literally had a moment like what the frick was I thinking?

That's some insane thinking
I did some consulting for Sanderson Farms years back at one of their major processing plants.
Got to the area where they were packaging raw chicken for supermarkets and it blew my mind to see Great Value labels and packages next to their name brand packages.
Never bought name brand again after that

Eh, Canton is only an hour away
From Carr to Shough has been such a nice breath of fresh air. I don't know if Shough will be the dude. Next year will tell us what we need to know. But he's a likable dude who you cheer for. Glad we have him.
Much like was saw last year with Kelly, killing it in the portal doesn't mean much if the coaching isn't there.
Ole Miss fans are acting very confident, but the next season is not a continuation of the last. Injuries happen. The ball doesn't bounce you way. And they lose their entire offensive staff and head coach, something they seem to really downplay due to denial.

Braveheart is a great film, whilst Gladiator is a good movie.
Why can't we just say they are both great? They are.

She was absolutely iconic for us kids of the 80s and 90s.

What a huge, comedic loss.

Yes I hate the Coach that brought the Saints their only championship
I'll appreciate him always. I won't cheer for him though since his foot was out the door for years and then he quit on this team once he realized what a disaster it was, and he lied about "retirement" knowing full well he would be back ASAP.
Payton after the Super Bowl was an empty calories coach. Hooray for awesome regular seasons that ended in absolute cruel heartache in the postseason.
Looking at a Denver fan forum and they are pretty shell shocked at Payton's arrogance and coming up short in the AFC Championship game. Get used to it, Denver.
quote:
I mean the fans literally ran him off? at least that’s how I remember it…he should still be coaching here.
Yep. That’s what happened. We all got together and met with Kubiak. He wanted to stay and we said NOPE. And now don’t we look foolish!
You’re a moron
Payton loses. Rams lose

Great football day.

Sorry. I don’t cheer for quitters. Payton and his arrogance cost him yet another playoff game.
But hey, looks like his team will be off for more than two weeks
