$18,000 + Quarterly Bonuses - For Reals, I took it because I had never had a real job.

Probably made 25K the first year

Mine was $67k in 2006 I believe.

However, I was living in NYC. Had 3 roommates I had never met prior to moving in, and was paying $1,400 a month in rent.

I lived on a couple blankets for 2 weeks, then went down the street to a Sleepy's and bought a "bed" for $300. The springs were hitting my back when I left the city for good in 2009

My first civilian job was 20,862.40

I made more than that in the Marines before I got out.

As a boomer I only made 80k starting out first job after high school in 1974. I had to scrimp and save to get the $3500 for my first house (a tiny 4 bedroom)

It makes me sick when these millennials complain today. If only they knew how bad we had it

Late '80's, US Army, went in as E-3, probably less than $1000mo, +$50(I think) for "jump pay". I may be off a few $$$, here & there...

$10.40 an hour back in 1999. Obviously, not OT rich, but I could pay the bills out of college.

28k I think in 2000. It was a fairly low paying job that I didn't stay at very long. Left after a little over a year for another company for a whopping 40k.

$30k circa 1996 or so. Which was good for a Business 4 year degree in the South at that time.

Moved in with my best friend who had bought a house with the help from his dad. We were living like kings!
