Next time stop in at Bobby's Idle Hour at the East end of Grand Avenue,
All you will hear are Songwriters doing their own songs. No covers allowed.
If you are a picker, they even have a couple of pretty damn good acoustic guitars that you can use just in case you feel like making your big break happen. I was there 3 nights last week and had a great time.

Yes and much of the 90s country was pretty cringe too.
People of a certain age say its best because it's what they listened to in their prime.
I do think the current Aldean/Luke Bryan types are pure shite.
IMO the real country is coming from the likes of Sierra Ferrell, Tyler Childers, and others like them reviving traditional country/Americana type music. It matters too, at least to me, when they write their own songs. It makes it personal and unique. Charley Crocket and the Tournpike Troubadours are in this mix too.
The Nashville songwriting machine turns out shite after shite after shite. And Aldean can't get enough of it.
I gotta say, Ella Langley ain't that bad.

Check out Western AF and Gems on VHS on YouTube. You'll find more folks keeping it alive that you've probably never heard of.
