re: Towing a boat with 1/2 ton truck.

I saw a guy coming towards me on a curvy highway yesterday, towing a fairly tall, large, center console. The boat was swaying all over the road, making the truck sway as well. Didn’t notice whether it was a GMC or Chevrolet half-ton, I was too busy keeping an eye on that boat coming across the cente...
The 2005 Preakness when Afleet Alex got knocked to his knees in the final turn, almost losing the jockey and driving ahead for the win is my all time favorite. What an incredible display of athleticism and heart. ...
They will all curl or warp over time. The best way to prevent that is four runners, or stringers on an 8’ fence. Three is ok for 6’. And use a good quality fence board. ...
Don’t know about that time, but in 1978 a cattle wagon turned over coming off the bridge. I was headed west and wondered why I wasn’t seeing any cars on the eastbound side. Then I saw some cows trotting eastbound with some deputies chasing them. In about a week, a westbound meat wagon with hanging...

I used to live on the Tickfaw. Every year when the caterpillars would start falling out of the trees was the absolute best time to go. You could fill up an ice chest in a short time. I think it was usually mid-late April to mid May. Other than that, I would suggest crickets in from 1- 4 ft of wate...

Probably a squirrel or rat. Locate the entrance if it’s a squirrel and block it off. If it’s a rat then try to trap it. If you are not successful then poison is the next step. Hopefully it goes outside to get water and dies out there. If it dies in the wall you will probably have to pinpoint it an...

Not me, but a couple of my friends got their shoes from there. Maybe one of their dads worked for uniroyal, not sure I do know one of them went to work at uniroyal and put in about 40 years there. Only job he ever had. Possibly got the job because of his father. Sadly, I just received word th...

re: Custom door jamb leg length

You will be okay IF the jack studs are plumb and the floor is level (enough). This is the main reason for the 1/2” at the head jamb. Make sure they are before you start installing. If they’re not there are all kinds of ways to make this work out. ...

1/2” at least for the head jamb. More won’t hurt. This allows you to square the door up. Either set the jambs on the subfloor and cut off with an oscillating tool using a scrap of flooring as a guide, or set the door after the finished floor is installed. ...

As long as he is happy and enjoys being with you I would do everything I could to help him keep going. ...
What really gets me is they want the taxpayers to help build their stadium and in return are rewarded with higher ticket prices. They get em coming and going. ...
I guess I would try a poultice. ...
Take away 21 points, and the game wasn't that close.
On the other hand, what if Tua doesn’t inexplicably drop the football (and the Heisman) for no apparent reason and the refs don’t give LSU a touchdown with that BS “the receiver re-established” call. It might be a different ballg...
That is called efflorescence. Usually caused by too much moisture in the substrate. The water brings it to the surface and then evaporates, leaving behind the calcium or limestone residue. 50/50 white vinegar and water will remove it. May need to scrub with a soft brush. ...
