This is the right call. Assault is usually a civil offense as well and parents are responsible for the actions of their children.

My guess is they filled this knowing they would lose immediately but it would be stupid enough to gain attention in the news and social media. And they might be able to profit off of the attention (GoFundMe)

I saw this story yesterday. The criminals even shot first if i remember correct. Clear cut case of self defense and the families of the criminals can get fricked.
