My former Company Commander was killed yesterday. We were in an Airborne unit. Would it be bad taste to wear my jump wings on my suit to show respect for him?

Wouldn’t showing up to the funeral be the showing respect for him part?

I assume his family will just be happy people that knew and liked him were there, and not even care what people wore. And if you wanted to wear the wings to honor something special between you and him, I can't imagine anybody having a problem with that. And if they do, frick em anyway.

You can purchase the miniature lapel pin versions of your Airborne wings. Check it out.

Why would it be bad taste to wear them in the first place? I’m not sure what the issue would be.

Don't blouse your boots though.

Wear them. It is a great way of honoring him.

You earned them. It's no disrespect to wear them to honor him or wear them on your suit anytime.
Sorry for your loss.

We’re not talking about the Joint Chiefs here with extreme protocols in-place and the media there at Arlington.
As long as you earned the wings, in a reasonable and respectful way you can wear them on your suit lapel.
Thanks for your and for his service and sorry to hear of his untimely passing.

This is the actual answer but wear the ones you have if you can’t get the
Minis in time.

Wear black jump boots too. If you have a set of those!
Ok that may be extreme, but the wings would be a good choice.
