I’ve had this happen. It really does put a damper the post-storm cooldown swims.

Seems some models are now steering back west a little and pushing up to Cat 2 again.

Been closed for a while now. Hell, they even tried opening an Asian massage parlor there but couldn’t keep it open. Building is for sale now

I appreciate that legend, thank you.

Like I said yesterday, I’m not worried about wind/rain at my house, the only thing that concerns me is tornados. I’m in plaquemines parish FWIW

They didn't classify it as a hurricane until weeks or months later.......I was there......I remember it like it was yesterday. We were prepared for a TS and it was much worse that expected

It was literally upgraded 5 mph in post storm analysis.

This goes to the heart of the argument that maybe the NHC needs a different way to get the danger across to the public. 5mph shouldn’t change the way people prepare but it obviously does.

What are the realistic rain amount forecast?
I’m listening to a co-worker losing his mind and telling everyone they are predicting 12-24 inches in the Gonzales area.
I find that hard to believe

They are generally conservative on following model shifts from the original track.

No problem. I'll try to remember to keep an eye on where that warm front will set up. I don't think this one will be near what Barrel was with tornadoes, but the old adage, "Never trust a warm front." applies to tropical setups, too.

How do you want them to initialize the center of a storm that doesn’t even exist yet?

Funny thing is when you asked me for that I just quickly made a landfall area guess and picked a pressure/wind speed

Now the models show exactly that. If I nail it I’m going to the casino this weekend
